Suggestion for all Object Desktop Apps...

Wednesday, September 25, 2002 by Orange Crush | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

As a new user here, the one thing I ran across that would make things a zillion times better would be if the Apps supported multiple imports. When I downloaded WindowBlinds yesterday, I had to add each theme individually and it would be nice if there were a way to batch process them all in at once. Same for the Icons, Cursors, etc....

Everyone is different and they pick and choose what they want to go together. Winstyle themes comes with a lot of things bundled together.

No, I don't mean what goes together. I down loaded 50 Window Blinds yesterday and had to install each one individually through the Window Blinds interface. I would like to be able to click on the 'add' button and select more than one .wba file. Or possibly be able to double click a .wba file and have it install automatically.

You can double click .wba file and they install automatically.

Orange, as of a few versions ago (I think, maybe longer) .wba files have been able to be double clicked. Now I'm not sure about 95, 98 or ME but I know for sure this works on 2000 and XP. Perhaps try reinstalling windowblinds?...maybe it will recreate the association that has been lost or wasn't created on the first install for some reason. I'm also using the registered (enhanced) version so this may not be available in the demo, I'm not sure.

Yeah, I don't have the registered version...which confused me at first because I thought that as a member of this website...that was registered...but apparently that means if you have purchased and registered it. Which I will probably do here shortly as I have really liked the program thus far...

Thanks for the quick responses.

I could be wrong about this, as it's been awhile since I did it this way, but I think if you drag your files to a shortcut of wbload.exe, it will install all of them at once. It's at least worth a try.

Open a folder where you keep your skins, select them all, rightclick and select "Open". They will all be added at once. Except ziped skins, you will have to add them one by one

If they're zipped, you can create a batch file to rename them all to .wba. That will work unless it's actually multiple (not compound) skins zipped into one file.
