Starone to Feline (re Menu)

Hey, Feline. Remember the menu issue we were pondering over back on the object bar thread? Well, when the later version of WB came out and I updated to XP, the problem cleared up. However, I have just discovered that werewolf now has the same problem I had at the time. Whenever he tries to open up one of the items on the menu, instead of opening the program it throws him into Object Edit. This is all very strange, huh? Don't know why my problem cleared itself as I didn't do anything to get it to work. Thought this might be of interest to you as we had labored many hours over this. Also kind of hoping that maybe someone else may read this and have a clue that might help werewolf out.

perhaps when werewolf re-appears we should sit on him? that should slow down his running away act a bit

Hey, feline, cool your paws. This is a spin the bottle quiz. You pick 'em, you name 'em. Seriously though, I've been including the smartbutton menu in my skins and werewolf has been trying to use the menus in them. They work for me, but not for him. Ooops almost forgot to give you a name. Guess you could start with Liquidaqua for starters. You can still lie there and look cute though if you wish until we hear back from werewolf. Man, what is it when you're invited to a party. The thread seems to grow rapidly.

Yes, I'll be there with a Wincustomize T-shirt on. However, it seems if anything says skinners (and when whispered in email I get porn emails in reply), the wrong idea seems to pop up. May have to fight everyone off that isn't part of the skinner crowd.

if not, using the smartbutton quicklaunch menu...when I click on an item, the executable for that item is loaded into Object Edit

all right then. loading the UIS file for the Liquidaqua skin in vim shows that this is by starone, and that it really does have smart buttons.

i am going to have to reverse engineer the UIS file at this rate.
i have a skinned notepad window here. it is blue, and it has that starone skin style to it
i have two groups of 4 buttons at the top of the window, one on the left and one on the right. none of them seem to be smart buttons.
there are two buttons at the ends of the vertical window borders. none of those (4) seem to be smart buttons.
there is only 1 button left, which is an IE 'e' symbol on the bottom border, in the right hand corner. this also doesnt seem to be a smart button.
but when this is my main skin WB says there are two smart buttons that i can configure. so where are they???
this is:
OS = winXP pro
WB = 3.4c
currently using the Liquidaqua as a per app skin for notepad, so that when my experiments cause it to destroy new windows, it isnt to destructive.
so, which buttons do you think are supposed to be the smart buttons?
a parallel point, it is heading for midnight local time. so soon i will be off to sleep. back again tomorrow though.

also, is the OE exe referenced by your PATH variable?
trying to run down some of the variables ahead of tomorrows assult on the UIS file
