Texas Flood Report

Friday, July 5, 2002 by jcg | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Just when we thought the flood of '98 was the most devastating flood we'd see in our lifetime, here we go again. I live right on the bank of the Guadalupe River and the water is raging by. Fortunately we live several feet (~30 ft) above the bank but some others are not so lucky. Mother Nature can be beautiful and terrible all at the same time.

We had rain here in East Texas, everyday for a week. It finally stopped yesterday, but it still looks like it might rain any minute.

We don't need anymore rain in the centeral or eastern part of the state. The western part is where the rain is needed. Thats where the draught is, and still is.

We got the second surge today, but we're still high and dry. Can't say the same for the folks on the other side of the river though. They say the water will be with us for at least another two days. This is amazing.

Koasoti...I live in Greenville. Where in East Texas do you live? We were getting some decent rain here on the same day you wrote your post (duh!). Could use it. This summer is supposed to be really dry.
