Computer problem - no sound!!
Friday, October 12, 2012 by kona0197 | Discussion: Personal Computing
Got quite an issue here on my hands. Computer will not play any sound. Under device manager the sound card is listed and Windows says it's working properly. Yet under sound in control panel it says no audio device. How can I fix this? I have tried installing the proper driver from my computer maker's website and I even tried system restore. Nothing has worked. Before I reinstall Windows I thought I would seek help first.
Thanks!

Kona, what you need to do is look up the drivers for your PC on the MFGR. site. Download the AC'97 driver. It is what you need. The realtek HD driver is a seperate driver.

wondering also, did you go to add remove programs, to remove the realtech stuff, then delete the folder manually, run something like cc cleaner, then reboot and reinstall drivers?
