LiteStep....or something else
Saturday, June 8, 2002 by clerval | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I just recently visited this site and learned about litestep, but can find nowhere to dowload it from. I've seen what it can do and would like to try it out. If anyone knows where I can download LiteStep or a program like it please let me know, Thanks.

You might want to try DesktopX, it's a lot easier than Litestep. Well, I think it is. you can find out about it here: https://www.stardock.com

i agree with Boxxi. I think Litestep is more programmer heavy. I looked at it myself and amazed by its power but there is that programming thing. So DesktopX would be easier or NextStart.
I like DesktopX..... NextStart seems to be more like Object Bar but more intergrated.

Yes...LiteSTEP 'can' get a bit 'heavy'....but the rewards are great....

the easiest way to begin with LiteStep is the LiteStep Installer by the OTS team: http://www.beyondconvention.net/ohussain/installer.htm
in fact this little installer is very user-friendly and does the basic configs with a GUI. be sure to use OTS compatible themes (this is usually stated in the theme´s description, most newer themes are compatible), before you get more used to it. older themes will need a little tweaking to run with the OTS structure.
and the best thing of LiteStep is not that it´s free (which is of course great), the best thing is that it´s the most powerful, flexible desktop/shell replacement of all. if you don´t believe that, just read here: http://www.shellfront.org/lsdev/
