Icons for sale?

I have an idea (don't laugh...it happens, sometimes). As was mentioned in another thread, why don't you provide the ability for users to purchase 'custom' icons to be used in the message boards. As well as alleviating some(a fraction) of the bandwidth issues, this might bring in a little extra income to a site that deserves it - not to mention that this would allow us non-priveleged (That one is aimed directly at Alexandrie) users a level of personalization. I would be happy to donate/pay a few bucks for the feature. Anyone have thoughts on this? Admins?

Now that you mention it, I hadn't given it much thought...probably something innoffensive like a smiley with dreadlocks...maybe...have to give it some thought...

Alexandrie....my thought was that YOU would create all needed icons (all 300,000 - all unique, of course) since you have sooo much fun playing with them...

I would be willing to pay a couple of bucks for one too. A small Coke can perhaps, seeing I currently have about a dozen standing around my pc.

Alexandrie, I'll take one too. Nothing elaborate, of course, just maybe an animated ocean scene, gulls flying around, a nice sun, clouds and sky, and maybe a boat too. That should only take about a minute to do, huh?

I think that is a great idea! I would like a small smiley face in the shape of a little drip of water.

I think icons will trash this message board like LOS's board. The browser icon is fine. Just my old opinion.

I don't expect to see lots of user icons here. The individual ones that Alex made for Doreen and China were exceptions for a couple of dear old friends. The admins/wizops having icons is also a very limited use.
We'll have to wait and see if it goes any further, but I wouldn't count on it...
