My house is full of books & book shelves.....best thing that ever happened to me was my wife and I getting Kindles...

Now when I read a book that I really like I'll step out and pick up a physical copy, but for the half dozen or so I read that are just OK.......ARCHIVE.

132 lineal feet of book shelves....all full.

Terry now has 2 Kindles...one a DX the other a touch ....and in 18 months has saved me building another 46 feet of shelving.

The Kindles are recharged every night as the font size she uses is so large they flatten from page load/turns in a day.

For those of you who find the need to only read something that is written on paper here is something to moll over. 

I enjoy backpacking and hitching (even at 65).  In fact I will go out for several days at a time, hence carrying paper books can create a great deal of weight thus meaning you might have to leave something you really need behind.  That is where the Kindle is truly handy.  With the Kindle you can take a great deal of books with you, and not worry about leaving food behind or other needed items.  With a book light you can also read late into the night.

So in a world where technology is growing/changing quite fast a good deal of people are finding that there are some great things out there for them to use, and one of those is ebook readers.

So the next time you are looking to read a book think about how soon into the future you will have to break down and get an ebook reader.

i also read ebook plenty to be honest- if your writing is interesting ( it has to do with skinning so i guess it will be and your not only on wincustomize as far as i know ) i would take a look at it when your done sure

I don't read ebooks because I dislike to read on my desktop, or laptop. But if I had an kindle, things would be a little different.

Me too.  I read technical documents and the like on my iPad while web editing on my desktop.

All of our remote codes and household appliance manuals are on my iPad

I prefer to read physical books. I find it easier on the eyes, like to decorate with bookshelves, like to read in the bath, and I don't have a great record when it comes to long term data storage.

 I also prefer REAL books and have a 'small' set of libraries ie professional(computer stuff)of only 20 metres, relaxation (mostly scifi approx 40 metres, and general reference approx 15 metres, and all are double stacked ie TWO or more layers of books/magazines on EACH shelf so my total book/magazine collection would consume atleast 150 METRES of shelf space, and I find that staring at a computer screen for too many hours(more than 2-3 straight) a day does tend to trigger mild headaches, BUT reading for 12+ hours straight from a book/magazine does NOT, so from my experience I prefer REAL books.

I'm into physical books. In school I was the bookworm. Used to take comic books to school and read them in class. Got caught a few times too. lol

But seriously before life threw me a bad curve I had some collection including a complete six volume electronic library plus complete series, all sci-fi, in hardcover, most of which are almost impossible to replace. So yeah....I love books, love reading and all that good stuff. As for an e-reader...nah....like the real thing too much.

Books?....Nah, I wait for the movie.

Now I have been known to watch them on my iPad when I'm traveling.

I don't read eBooks, I am a physical books person all the way. I utterly despise having to use online textbooks at college. I am behind on getting all of the Star Wars books I love. I finally got the Thrawn Trilogy and the Dark Empire Trilogy I ordered last week today. Sadly, I haven't been to the library in a long time.

I am now reading again since I got my Kindle for my birthday in April and now e books are all I read. I still have my paperback and hardback books and have them set up on my bookshelf in such a way that they look decorative. A lot of my paperback books are really too old to try and read and I am sure I can use them as a reference to try and get them as an e book at some future time. One of the things I especially like about Kindle is the ability to be able to adjust the size of the font since my vision keeps getting worse due to MS. That can't be done with regular books. The only problem I have is trying to decide which book to read next... a lot of the books are sooo good.

No.  I like the feel of an actual book in my hands.

One thing about ebooks that bothers me... how accurate a reproduction of the original are they? Ideally 100%, but that doesn't alsways seem to be the case.

Buying the rights to a book (or work of any art) should preclude changing the original.

Maybe someone should start an online issue-based campaign about that.  And no, I don't necessarily mean DrJBHL, and I don't mean in an election-type sense.

Tell that to the censors.

ACO was never released in the UK [until Kubrick died] because he controlled the UK rights...and the censors wanted it changed.

Meanwhile it was changed for release in the US.

Oz saw it the way it was supposed to be...

Edit.....also the book was censored in the US....not just the movie.
