Better for the skinning community as a whole to have more choices. More exposure. Post here, at WC, post at DeviantArt, Skinbase, SDN, DesktopArt, etc.....
More the merrier. Check us out, Neil. We're showing off work you make possible. Thanks!

That's nice to see people organizing themselves but I would rather post in least places (if not one), it's easier to check out.

Mondays it seems are my learning days, so help me to learn.
I was always under the impression that Stardock and WinCustomize embraced the skinning community.

Gee Wiz
*Edit* Not gee wiz about the new site, ya know........I mean.......what?

I'm a bit confused here...I thought we already had a site like that. I've been a member of it since 2003 and pretty much can do all the things you mentioned. So I'm not sure what your going for here. No offense...but what makes this new site your advertising here different or better than WinCustomize?

Not better, Steve. We are not looking to replace WC, or any other site. Just trying to get a foot in the door. More sites are dying out these days. A new site should be welcomed. Maybe the OP should be re thought. It isn't supposed to come across like we're better than any other site, just different.

Or, "rethought".
Can I offer any surgical services to remove the bullet from your foot?
The way the OP was worded implies such a site hasn't existed before this new one.... and I agree with those who answered that perhaps 'unfortunate' wording.... it comes across as "Look! I just invented the wheel!"

Lol...yes Doc. Good to see you got yer net back.
I didn't compose the original message, I only posted it. I hope all is well and damage control was quick enough.
I apologize to the offended.

I'm interested but would like to know how this site is different from what is currently available. I don't need better, but I do need different . . otherwise, why bother?
It can emphasize tutorials, or types of skinning or the technixal aspects of skinning non-skinnable apps or using custom skinning engines . . .or . ..something.
Another site for the sole purpose of the same things seems an odd choice.
Tell me more!

There are plans for the future, but guys, the site is just starting. We do have plans that will make it diferent.
Promotion of skinner's personal sites, premium themes from all skinners around the world will be featured there. Not only Masters.

It's way too technixal for me...over my head!!!!

I can't say there'd be any dramas with a New Site with a 'different political' stance on skinning as a whole.
It's not just about eggs-in-one-basket but more about Stardock, its Admins and Mods being the 'surviving' prima facie 'tutti capi' of skinning.
Once upon a time there were several large and [mostly] independent sites devoted to GUI/App skinning. Most have long gone.
Yes, I can remember it being very time-consuming flitting from one site's forum to another's....just to keep track of 'everything', and at the same time there was a LOT of 'everything' as GUI modding was new to everyone.
But that being said, a new site's different social/political 'bent' would be welcome, most definitely...

I think it can be agreed upon that the OP needed editing. I'm sorry that the responses now seem odd.

good luck with the site.
feels a little "same, same, but different". i think if you want to revive that skinning thing, a really different approach might help more.
a Dribbble-like site dedicated to skinning would be cool.
