On the other hand, I believe that poor rated skins are usually acurate, because when somebody bothers to rate something 1, 2 or 3, it's because they REALLY think a skin is very crappy.
Personnaly I rarely or never grade, and when I do it's usually to give a 9 or a 10 on a skin that I feel has an unfair rating so far.

Case in point: My "Blue Sunset" skin for Dashboard was given a 2. Granted, not my best work, but it's not THAT bad. Just compared with the ratings on some of my other skins, that 2 (arguably) makes no sense.
I do, however, like that rating program, paxx -- nice work. I'd give it at least a 7

I know well, that this Peer Rating System has been done with a lot of try to be as fair as possible and in theory it is.
But, (there is always a but
), what kind of Peer Rating is this, with 1 or 2 votes only? We must have a peer rating system with at least 5 votes, otherwise it is better to not appearing at all, 'till it gets at least 5 votes.
By the way, I know that we are living in a cruel word, but the artists are very sensitive people and we must try not to hurt them, if you know what I mean. We are artists too, and we must not do to the others, what we don't like them to do to us

true

personally i only rate things that i like. the reasoning is that if i dont like it, or am not impressed, this is hardly a reflection on the work, only on my perception of the work.
however, if something really speaks to me, and moves me emotionally, then it really does deserve a proper rating, and i will look to do so.

nothing like asking for everything

these days i only tend to download things that really speak to me emotionally, and that i like. however, this it is hard to know how to put this sort of reaction into words

I had heard of them, but didn't think much of it since I couldn't see them, then my latest NS theme was featured yesterday (I was shocked), and I see this Peer Rating.....
Why can't I see the rating on any of the skins? Is it because I'm a lowly citizen? I would really like to see what the "special" people think of my work.
And another thing....how many of you rate the SS, before you even check out the skin? How many rate skins of apps you don't even use?

I eventually abandonned my cruisade since I came to the conclusion that ratings don't mean anything since nobody uses them anyway; it's almost as if they don't exist anyway.
The citizen class is not meant for skinners, I am sure that yo are only a citizen still because you just arrived. I have no doubt you will be "promoted" soon.
