Any mechanics in the house??
Real .. ones?

Having an issue with my 89 camry, something to do with the drive train.
If anyone knows what the hell they are doing I would love some interaction... losing my mind.
I've taken it to 3 diff. mechanics and heard 3 different diagnosis'
Pipe up if you think you may be able to help me, and I'll explain the issue.

To be safe, jack the car up, remove the front wheels and tighten the lug nuts down onto the rotors to hold them on tightly. Put a cinder block under each of the lower control arms and use jack stands behind both front wheels to support the car. Lastly, chock the rear wheels and set the parking brake. You can run the car without the wheels on it, just keep the rpms down to a minimum and use 1st gear.
The blocks will support the front end and hold the axles straight and with the wheels off you can check the bearings without getting under the car.
I don't have to tell you not to get under a running car, I'm sure you already know that.

Alright.. thanks for the tips.. and yeah.. I didn't mean was going to literally get under it.. only try to listen where the noise is coming from the outside of the vehicle as opposed to driving it.

A stethoscope isn't essential.....wouldn't be the first time I'd located which tappet was off....with the use of a screwdriver to the ear....
...er placing the other end to the vee hick al ....

alot of people scoff about 3 cylender or small motors.. but at the end of the day, the owner of the small car is laughing when they have filled up and payed 20 bucks, and driven off, while every other moron is still filling up their 6 cylinder guzzlers and its going over 100 dollars.
with todays economy, people have to think more smart, not materialistic.
anyway, back to john, well, just trying to give you a bit of financial advice....to help in your endevours like the rest. wasnt personally attacking .

Thats all well and good, but the car is extremely efficient already and the thread was not started looking for financial advice, just some opinions on a mechanical issue.
