Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

Who in the World of Chocolate would ever dig up this old relic of times past!?! When the world was a simplier place of true community. Fossil hounds rejoice!

Grand Raspberries to all and to all a good night .....or whatever!

Hey Everyone,

I doubt anyone remembers me, but here I am.

It has been a long time since I've been back, but I've barely had time to sleep, much less the time to actually make posts. A lot of things has changed for me in the last 2 years, and here in a little over a month, things will change again.

I am graduating, and I don't know where I'm going. It's daunting really, never having a job in my life for any experience to be called upon, and my parents being absolutely helpless in any areas other than if it gave them personal gain in their dying marriage.

I'm not sure where any of this will lead me, but perhaps whatever happens will allow me a little bit of time to get away from the world and set goals for myself, something my parents have prevented me from doing in the last 10 years. Hopefully then I will get to rekindle the small flame that I know is my life.

I hope this brief message finds all of you well, and I wish you a good Easter.

Hey Elfie, good to see you around. Things have changed here too. People have moved on etc, though someone forgot to undo my shackles so I'm still stuck here

Moving on is a part of life. Sounds like you are ready for the next step. Daunting perhaps, but exciting too. The world is your...um... thingie...

Whatever you do next I'm sure you'll do well

I'm looking forward to a new life I hope to get for myself. I simply don't look forward to the hoops and hurdles I've got to jump through. I am looking to get married here in a year, but my parents are against me in my decision to do so. I suppose in finding my own path, I will also lose all support from those I call my family. The irony of it all is, the man I wish to marry, is one of the best men I have ever known. There are so many women out there who would love to have a chance to even go on a date with him, and here I am, being proposed to and adored by him.

The greatest thing about this relationship is that we've been friends for years, and he was the one person who helped me through all these years. If it wasn't for him, my parents would never have seen the day I graduate from college with two degrees. You would think that they would be a bit more abashed at the horrible things they accused of a man they know nothing of and haven't met, but they aren't. I'm a little bit more than just upset at them, but what can I do?

*sigh* My life alone here in the US hasn't been easy. My parents don't know any of my struggles, nor do they even try to understand. They just think I should succeed just because they give me a bit of money to pay my bills. If that was all the effort life took for all of us to be successful and happy, I don't see why the world is still struggling as is. I don't ask for much, just that my choices be respected and that I be treated like an adult by my parents.

I have a man who loves me. I don't know where I'll be without it.

Most of the time, it feels like the right one. Then there's that little bit of doubt that always just lingers. What am I looking for?

I wish I had the time and space to just disappear somewhere for a week or two by myself to figure out what it is I want. You would think that parents who aren't hard pressed for money and has demanded the world from their daughter could give her a couple of weeks off after college to try to sort her life out, but no, not mine. Everything has to follow the textbook written by their multi-million dollar friends who can get their kids in just about anywhere for a job because they've all got favors owed to them by every major corporation one can name.

Wow, found this old thread back on page 8. It's been a long time since I've been around. Just been busy. I'm hoping to get back into the skinning once my new house is remodelled and everything gets settled down. Hope everything is going well for everybody, I have to read up through on what I missed.

Good night.
