Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.
It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.
New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P
Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

IRC...
I've been around on it for a while, about 4 years now, for starters. I've hung around channels that were pretty decent four years ago, and then it sent rocking sliding downhill... and guess what? I'm an op in those channels.
The only set back is, I'm a female, and I look out for our female population...which is all of 5 people in a 30 person channel. Well gee, majority doesn't work very well, does it? Everytime I bring up some topic for banning, I get my ass chewed out. If they're starting to loose some odd debate against me, they pin the "op stat isn't used for your personal interests, Elfkura" on me. Ask Doreen, I'm sure she's seen one of those on occassion. If you know firefly6, as her too, and maybe ask around in the channels, I spared no one... op or no op status. (Two ops ended up loosing their stats after the admins have seen my war with the two of them. But that process wasn't in the matter of two hours or four, it was over the course of at least a week).
It's never instant on an IRC channel, especially when one op bans and another one unbans. Talk about op wars. It's worse than the talk of porn or of drugs. Don't get me wrong, IRC was good before, but unless you moderate or make a channel on invite to allow certain people in, there is never going to be any reasonable discussions in that place. Kiddo's nowadays decided eating as many different types of pills together are a rather exciting thing, Wait until they die the next second...blah.

Yes Elf yet one more reason I don't really use IRC gets alittle uncomfortable when your out numbered 30 male to 5 females and that's if the other 4 females are in there when you pop in... hehe
I would think it would make the guys not be able to be guys and relax if a couple of girls are hanging out in there
can't say I ever met firefly6??? nor would have realized firefly was a female on the few times I've popped in IRC, I did in the past get brave and pop into IRC when me and China would jump in "together" but have not seen my sis around lately

could just be a matter of using it more and getting use to it, but I mainly only use irc for tek meetings once a week thats about it...
popped into #lotsofskins a few times w/ crae and that group is fun I have to say
but the two or three times I jumped into irc w/ china I would have felt out of place if it hadn't been for her holding my hand... hehe

I guess I've just been on a single IRC channel long enough that everyone gets along and there's rarely a problem. Helps that pretty much everyone there is an op at this point. And usually -- particularly during the day -- the female population outnumbers the male. It's just a matter of finding a channel that fits, then praying it doesn't change for the worse, I suppose.

Stardock has its own IRC server, so we have good control over it. it is IRC.Stardock.com and the channels are #Stardock and #WinCustomize. #Stardock has a lot more activity on it. There are usually 2 or three females on it at any given time (Usually KimK, myself, and ElfMaiden)

What's going on? This thread is now two days old. You can't just abandon it after all this time...
So how was your weekend? I spent mine gardening. I have some lovely 'patio' roses planted in one of my borders. All different colours, and the fragrance...aaah!

Oh, this thread's gone idle longer than two days before. It tends to lie low on the weekends, but I can't imagine it'll ever completely die!
Let's see, weekend ... I was on stage Friday night, drove 300 miles and rented a tux on Saturday morning, was back on stage Saturday night, then out drinking, then back on stage yet again on Sunday afternoon, went home, cleaned the apartment, and collapsed.

I saw Lilo and Stitch over the weekend. Went to the beach (had a picnic dinner) then, on sunday, went to a BBQ at my BIL and SIL's. Pretty good weekend.

wellll I tried to take my youngest to see that Lilo and Stitch flick (though I protested all the way down there, cuz it looks to be yuk to me)
but my job paged me back home so we never got to see it (another words I got saved by the beep)
