Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Sunday, January 27, 2002 by Elfkura | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

Elfkura - This thread's dead, I suppose.

feline picks up dead thread and carries it around
feline finds that thread wiggles when ticked
feline wonders who to present this gift to

the only dead thing is my net connection Elf. i would have been back sooner, but wasnt able.

feline hugs Elf

you remind me of a (to me) terribly sad observation once made by Leneir (no idea on the spelling) in Babylon5, "true love is always unrequited" i think that was the word used. he ment one way only.

this situation is making you sad and unhappy. this isnt what love is supposed to be about (or so they tell me). i am hardly qualified to offer advice here.

the advice given sounds sensible. Elf, what you do is up to you. but you *need* to get something out of this. does he feel the same way about you as you feel about him?

actions are what matter, that much i am certain off. the actions you describe dont sound like he feels the same way you do. does he really understand your feelings on this matter?

remember, *we* *are* here. if i disapear, it is only becuase i cannot get back. perhaps that famous phrase should be reserected. "one for all and all for one" ?

i see to much sadness in the world. i want you to be happy. being all alone and sad is something that no one deserves.

LoidiBoid - The gals seem to have kept it alive with fewer and fewer chaps participating

perhaps it is true, men lack staying power

feline wonders who will post the 500th message

so, you spent all this time off sunning yourself then? and what about us?
you could have at least uploaded some sun, chocolate sweeties and interesting drinks

ohhh sun is what I need...

feline...

I've only been voicing my opinions. He's never told me what he felt....or anything, I don't know.... I wish I knew what was on his mind...

hmm.. maybe this is a communication problem.

Elf.....I was my husband's first girlfriend. It shouldn't take that long to figure it out. By the way, don't expect to "hint" stuff to a man and expect him to get it. You really need to right out tell him what you need/want, then ask him direct questions to find out what he is thinking. I found that out after I was married for about a year....women just are a little more subtle about things then men are. An example: what you probably would say: I'm thirsty. A coke sounds good. What you *need* to say to a man: I'm thirsty. Get me a Coke. See the difference? Just trust me on this one.

405 posts!

Yeah, I'm figuring out that too.... But Rob's a bit different. When I tell him I'm thirsty, he usually just walks over to the fridge and asks me what drink I want....

If I'm hungry....he lists this "hotdogs? salad? what's you in the mood for? "

He's really very thoughtful, but I guess there are just a few areas both of us just needs to sit down and really talk about it.....go somewhere deserted, you know?

Maybe this Spring Break should've been set aside for such..... No time after spring break...and he's home summer......

I'ms till a bit depressed about that.....

okay..so not a bit, rather depressed about it... *sigh*

My hubby is thoughtful, too. But, you have to watch it. The simple things they pick up on- the things that are eating you, well, they might not "get it".

What about weekends? Can't you plan a weekend together? I've been through the whole school thing, while working, and still found time. Even just a day to sit together alone and try and figure things out. The longer it is before you sit down together, the more depressed you will become....and nobody needs that.

So, you eating cheetos and drinking warm beer? (since the cafeteria is closed)

Sure there are. Go look in the Dragon Cave, the one to your right. If feline won't let you in, tell him you've got a special pass from Elfkura

Woops, sorry about the slight delay getting back to all those wanting to hear about my Cook Island vacation. The reason is that I'm never able to sleep with any of you... er, perhaps I should rephrase that... you see, I'm in Sydney, Australia ("Down-Under") and when you are sleeping, I'm awake - er, and vice-versa. (That's not counting sleep-time at the office, mind you! )

I did send all of you chocolate sweeties, but they must have melted in the sun. There is however a slight chokky residue which has dribbled down to the bottom of this post which can be had on a first come, first lick basis (remember to wipe the sceen clean again Feline! )

So back to the Cook Island trip: It was reeeally good.

OK I'll expand on this a bit... Hot, sunny, warm sea, palm trees, strikingly good looking Polynesian locals, great tucker, gin-clear snorkelling, sail-boarding, scootering around the islands, dancing (modern & native), evening tropical cocktails, Factor 30+ sunscreen & great tan, super dollar exchange-rate (for Aussies), new friends from all over the World, sad to leave, need at least another two weeks to recover, going again!!

Apart from that, pretty ho-hum really! (Only kidding)

Now come on - who actually found the Cook Islands on their maps? You'll need a magnifying glass!

LoidiBoid thinks it would be a splendid location for the first "WinCustomize Annual World Conference"!

If anyone would like me to elaborate on any specific activity mentioned above - I'd be delighted!

Actually, I think we're spread out reasonably across the globe here, Loidi ... you're probably getting to sleep while I'm on my way to work, but that might not be the case with others. But that's not important right now.

Your trip sounds especially appealing today, given that it was about 19 degrees when I got up (that's about -7 for everyone outside the USA). It's been over a year since I had a "real" vacation

Elf, the male mind isnt as complex as you might think

as for whats on his mind, the two most likely candidates (for an average male) are sex and food

it really does sound like you two need to have a proper long and involved talk with him.

as a general rule (so this may not apply directly) men are no good at subtle. i dont suppose you have ever read that book "men are from mars, women are from venus". it was quite interesting, and as far as i am able to judge, fairly acurate about both men and women to.

Elf, you would do worse than simply getting him to read this entire thread, and then talk to you about it.

after all, without comunication and a meeting of minds, he is simply a big teddybear, suitable for cuddling when you can catch him, but not a lot else.

Elfkura - Urgh, I'm going insane. I haven't talked to any human being the past few days......

there is me!
ah, i think i see you point
however, insanity isnt as bad as people make it sound. at least you can have yourself for company, and you are always there to hug and cuddle yourself.

Elfkura - I haven't been outside for more than 5 minutes the past few days......

isnt this good? outside is full of sunlight (turns you to dust), and as a distinct absence of duvets. duvets are good, especially double bed sized ones, since there is lots to cuddle with all your limbs.

Elfkura - I haven't been huggled by my boyfriend the past few days............

this is sad

Elfkura - I'm sooooooooooo deprived.... =/

on the bright side at least you do have a boyfriend. not much of a consolation at the moment perhaps, but still a better situation than some of us find ourselves in

TheGreenReaper wonders if there are any of the chocolate mint dragons left.

the upper levels of the sky are full of them

if you are nice to one of the great dragons, they may well take you hunting with them. just remember to connect yourself tightly to the flight harness, the dragons think upsidedown is a good orientation for diving at mint dragons

LoidiBoid - The reason is that I'm never able to sleep with any of you... er

feline is glad to here this
sleeping all over everyones beds is the sort of thing that cats are for.
therefore, it should be my job to be sleeping with everyone.
i think it would be best to start with humans who understand how to do a proper tummy run on cats
Ruthven

Tummy run on cats? Pretty sure that would squash the cat
feline
Reply #419 Tuesday, March 5, 2002 12:15 PM
strange, i am sure i put tummy rub

anyway, i suppose it depends on who is trying to squash me, and how they do it really. i am not automatically adverse to trying

anyway, i have proved quite resilient so far over the milenia, so no imidiate worries
Ruthven

Sorry... for some reason, I was struck particularly amused by that one typo. As far as being SURE what you put, I'm sure you're also sure you put "glad to hear this," and "everyone's bed" in your original post and "millenia" and "immediate" in the last one.
