Neil Banfield kicked some serious butt this time !!

THANK YOU NEIL !

EDIT: The strangege blur" is Indeed gone from Hyper now. -I have now tried it a lttle and "Stuff´s" Really been fixed...They´ve been fixed so much that now "Unwanted" parts "shine through" on some parts of the New skin... For instance I now noticed that there apparently were some "Old" scrollbar parts left in the Wba for Hyper somewhere & now is Mixed with the new ones... & stuff.

Will investigate further.

Kick ass job fixing the Blur though.

Just one question:

As i installed previous WB version (7.31 build 99) with the self installer, am i able to install this beta over the previous one ?? and won't it consider it as a second Windowblinds installation (i mean for Windows and for "add/remove programs" )

Yes, I did and in add and remove programs it is listed as Widowblinds 7.31. Not two separate listings.

I, too tried to do the update through the new SDC and at the very end of the install it said "error", no indication of what the error was, then it told me to reboot but upon reboot WB was not updated and SDC showed the update still needed to be installed. I gave up and downloaded from the store and the install went without a hitch. Is there a log somewhere that would tell why the update through SDC failed? The info from WB after the update through SDC and after installing the download from the store:

I didn't install from the new SDC. Went to the store and downloaded the .exe file and double clicked it and installed with no problem. It did not add another WB to the add/remove. Had no problems.

So far I have opened explorer windows several times and even rebooted 3 times. It appearsd as mentioned above that the resizing problem of explorer windows has been fixed. That alone at least for me is worth the download and thank you for the fix.

I haven't done very much with the blur fix except to check a few of my skins and have found no problems, so thatnk you Stardock for the update.

I did mine through SDC. Download was quick but the install took a few minutes longer than usual for Windowblinds, about 15 minutes. All in all......

Very satisfied!

Just some more precisions:

I did the update on a Fresh reinstalled PC (XP SP3) where there's no old SDC or Impulse and where previous version was already WB 7.31 build 99 (done with self installer form the store). Installation was done without A/V & Firewall running

On another PC where Impulse is still installed, WB was also installed through self installer and was also previously in 7.31 buid 99

On a third PC, WB was in V 7.30 and had been updated (by the self installer downloaded as 7.31.001 beta, from the store) also to 7.31 buid 99 !!!

Weird isn't it ??

P.S: is there any possibility that the file in my store (download beta) should be not the right one ??

P.S 2: what should be the correct version number after installation ?

There were no changes to the XP version in this update which is why it will remain build 99.

OK, Thanks Neil

P.S: perhaps it will be better to tell it in the changelog for the next one

I'd appreciate a note on these as well if the XP version is unchanged.  No need to poke at things for no reason, the old box kind of gimps along anyway.

+1 This laptop has one foot in the electronics graveyard already. (failing HDD) It may be only a few updates away from retirement.

Would it be possible for someone in support to address why the failure to update through SDC? It is rather critical to the few of us who are on an extremely limited connection with download limits.
