I have plenty of respect for most of the folks at SD but this is complete BS! You were just waiting for an excuse to delete that weren't you Brad? Cuz I proved you wrong and showed the world that it is possible without your damn app! (Sorry Neil) I reported a crime to the community and you deleted it! What, you gonna delete this one too?

l0c, your "nazi" characterization above is way out of line.
We have a long standing tradition on the Stardock newsgroups of not allowing personal attacks. As WinCustomize is largely funded by Stardock, it is incumbent upon us to have some semblance of that here, especially when statements could be construed by others as libel, slander, or otherwise defaming.
I don't know who's right or wrong with regards to the original thread, but there are lines that once crossed, appear differently once people reflect on them.
Your opinions and those of others are part of what makes this such an interesting community, but I will start dropping posts myself if things start to turn into a free-for-all match here.

loc, you used WinCustomize's news to launch a slanderous attack on TGTSoft. I am surprised they allowed it to stay as long as it did.

I was one of the participants on that news item and Mr. l0c isn't telling the whole story or even the truth.
His post was called TGTSoft violates DMCA and accused TGTSoft of breaking the law and that they could be facing jail time.
l0c and Frogboy were on the same side in the ensuing debate against warez d00ds that jumped on defending TGTSoft's patching of WinXP system DLLs.
Some of the 'other side' pointed out that it looks mighty unsavory for a site owned by Stardock to have a news item that may be slandering another company.
Frogboy responded by saying something to the effect that the news item was created by l0c, not him and l0c isn't affiliated with Stardock.
Grinnder responded to that by saying it doesn't matter, news items are officially sanctioned things aren't they?
Frogboy then said that unless l0c was able to substantiate his claim that TGTSoft was breaking the law he would need to delete the news item.

Thanks TheHamster for clearing that up. However, it doesn't actually matter what this argument was about. Calling someone a nazi is going too far. With that statement l0c made himself impossible.

That was pretty uncalled for l0c. You didn't report a crime. You posted an allegation of a crime about a company that competes with Stardock. Frogboy can't win either way. If he kept your news item, then he was condoning unsubstantiated allegations of a competitor. If he deletes is he gets called a Nazi. Why don't you peddle your ugliness somewhere else.

Im not inclined to offer oppinions on what the news post said or not because I just skimmed it once but.. I must say (and shoot me if you must) but Greg is a long time friend of mine and a valued member of this community , no hes not a skinner but hes a huge contributer. I read his comment "nazi" to basicly just point out what he seen as Brad deleting what he thought was a legit news post.
I dont think the reffrence to Nazi was intended to make Brad out to be a killer like Hitler.
I know the word nazi will definatly offend people but I really think that you guys are putting too much into it. Im sure that even Greg probably sees his poor choice of words. cut him some slack.

Why don't people cut Brad some slack then? I was intimately involved on that news item. Frankly, if Brad did anything wrong it was that he should have deleted the news item immediately. I believe Brad let l0c's post live because of the temptation to let a non Stardock person bash a competitor.
If l0c really cared he could have posted his article on a third party site like devart where a conflict of interest wouldn't exist.

Am I the only one getting a bit fed up with the Brad bashing? l0c writes an inflammatory post and we're supposed to cut him slack? Crumbut, I really enjoy your skins but where were you on DeviantArt this weekend when Brad could have used some support? Brad has done a lot for the community too. l0c calls Brad a Nazi and we are supposed to cut him slack. But Jier writes a post reaming Brad and where were you in defending Brad? You know, Brad has feelings too. And he gets blasted for little to no reason on an almost daily basis. l0c should be ashamed of himself for his lack of character.

I also skimed devart posts, I seen that brad had all the backing he needed. I seen what was a challenge from jier. I see nothing wrong with the challenge. Brad catches hell from every corner I know, and I feel for him.. I did not speak up because he seemed to be doing fine with backing. As for cutting 10c slack, like I said I think he didnt mean Hitler Killer by the comment Nazi as most see in the word. And I seen what he was trying to convey ( not saying I totaly agree) cause like I said , I skimmed. But I do see him getting misunderstood and flamed. Just thought I should point out what I seen. You can flame me now

Crumbut, Brad is always the target. Brad has feelings too. We can't let things like that happend and say nothing everytime. l0c knows the situation. He should be the first to understand this and to not post this kind of threads like that. Sorry I usually don't participate to this kind of post but enough is enough.
