I can also understand getting angry at something you think is legit getting censored...
But "Nazi" ?? Obviously someone doesn't even grasp what pure hatred can do.

l0c - you've gone over the edge... get some perspective.

...in fact, you WILL be gone from DA.

'Fascist' would have been less objectionable than 'Nazi'. It isn't just a case of semantics....maybe I'm just old enough to know the difference.
Had I deleted it, I would simply have suggested to l0c to reword it.
The policy on Wincustomize.com is zero tolerance on personal attack, slander, libel, warez....and other 'obvious' transgressions of moral decency.

Now I see why it's hard for newbies like myself to get comments, advice or encouragement when I post a skin. Obviously the elders of our community are too busy on the message boards to be able to download a skin and offer someone some advice or encouragement.

Are you planning on doing any skins optimized for XP? I am running XP Wood at home, and Forest XP at work and I have really developed a taste for them.
As to the number of battles going on, I just posted a thread called War Of Words. It is not just our community that is tense. The attack on the WTC, the attacks against Afganistan, the uncertain economy, I think we are all on edge.
Peace, love and skinning to all.

Please, please, please don't turn this place into a flame board like Customize, Skinz, and Deviantart. I thought this is where the adults come to play.

btw nazi does offend me however.

Maybe none of you have ever called anyone else a f*ckhead, or a$$hole; lord knows i have. point is, to the person you're using that term to, it's usually construed as being quite offensive. Probably moreso than hearing secondhand a third party being called a nazi.
so, to me, you're all being hypocrites... unless you've -really- never called anyone a f*ckhead (or insert your own favorite curse..).
When I combine the contents of this thread plus the "we love brad" thread right below it, i get the impression of a large herd of grass eating sheep, or, in more offensive (but apparently more politically correct than calling all of you nazis) terms, a buncha pollitically correct asslickers...
This has been a very depressing return to the skinning scene. Like a groundhog, guess winter's not over yet... someone wake me up when we go back to 98, k?

for the record, both of my folks were in concentration camps; 3 of my grandparents died in them. So sod off on that track, even before you start.
(not you, jafo - just kinda pre-responding to others..)

When you sit and type a message, you have time to think and reflect on what you are going to say. Some people obviously don't realise the difference between shouting an insult, and strongly disagreeing with someone's point of view.
Hypocrite - The single most overused word on any messageboard.

he and jier obviously have a similar mind on this [and many other issues outside skinning, since they're now living under one roof.] i've talked to both of them before, many times with loc on irc, and i've interviewed jier for tek.
one thing that surprises me, regardless of opinion, is the devisiveness. i had thought both were in favor of promoting gui customisation as an art form. how can tearing down the image of one of the main tools in that genre help this? i would hate to think that this art form has merely become a venue for exercising ones hubris over their coding skills.
also, it's not possible to deny the obvious animosity from both jier and greg in the news/discussion thread at da. where is this coming from? is stardock, in the person of brad, merely seen now as part of the greater faceless 'establishment?' i, for one, expected more presence of forethought.
