Game forum threads ???

Should NOT be here

Friday, December 9, 2011 by neone6 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

What´s up with all these game-forum threads ???

They should be taken away from WC as they are not what WC-threads should be about at all, taking up forum space and are irritating in general for us Wincustomizers

I agree with this post, and didnt we have them taken away last time?   I cant understand why they have been put back, no offence to the gaming crowd....but we need our forum space for skinning, and just like last time, the gaming threads are taking over everything here, making it almost impossible to find important threads about skinning.

Agreed, its the main reason i spend little time here, there should be a separate forum for them... its a bit much recently.

Dunno what business gamers have on a relatively serious and otherwise mature forum.

Might as well get used to it I guess.

Seems like there's f*ckall we can do about it.

last time we had them taken away...... i would like to request the same thing happen this time...

they truly take over the forums like the red weed from war of the worlds....literally! i mean, come on, we just dont need this here.

and im serious about finding it hard to find threads i want to either reply to, or in future help someone who needs skinning help.

if the "everything else" catagory keep popping up, someone who  needs skinning help wont be seen...

PLEASE TAKE THEM AWAY AGAIN.

oh and on the flip side of the coin...

no.

I had a post that I didn't post about this very thing. I would assume that due to the majority of posts to be rehashed word and sentence threads along with the ever popular product posts (some are entertaining) that the forum has become somewhat droll. I didn't post it because I had a severe case of apathy.

so, now we have the JU game threads in addition to our own. I believe that it was the "off topic" posts that resulted in the previous experiment failing, can't wait to see how that turns out. Can I assume that those types of comments that usually get me in trouble are now acceptable in the "off topic" threads?

Anyhow, I do hope that the lack of skinning thread activity does not reflect poorly on the status of WC ability to stay viable.

I agree, only WC posts should be seen on WC.

Game forum threads ???

Actually 'off topic' or 'misc' threads...relevant to any/all forums. [or irrelevant].

There's about 5 of them.  In reality the only issue is that 2 of them are essentially the same and should have been culled to one only...ages ago.

Truth is....skinners are ALSO Gamers...and vice-versa.

I know I am.

The world won't end with Forum changes.  If you really need something to worry about try Global Warming...

paul (jafo), this is the first time i've disagreed with you. there is no reason nor excuse for threads about gaming to be here on wc. this is a skinning site, not a gaming site.i know i'm tired of having to sort through the threads to find ones related to skinning.

yes, some skinners are also gamers. let those folks post on the individual sites.

I'm sure it's not...

They are not 'gaming threads'...they are 'miscellaneous' or 'everything else' threads.  We have always had such creatures on WC.

Isn't this an issue for Brad really? He owns Stardock, and the various site forums are part of Stardock aren't they?

I personally don't see an issue. The game threads in question have been started in gaming forums, and while I agree they shouldn't be on this site because of that, and I have no idea why they've all seemingly risen from the dead en masse, they aren't exactly making it so hard to find the stuff relevant to skinners. It's really only a matter of going to the bottom of the forum threads page and clicking on 'more recent posts'. There are two pages of recent threads on there. A trifle inconvenient maybe, but nothing major.

We have plenty of threads on here, started by members of WC, that have bugger all to do with skinning or skinning software. Nobody complains about them.

I totally agree, glad somebody finally brought up the subject. Most are neither entertaining nor interesting, just a nuisance in my mind. I'm here for skinning and that's it. These stupid game threads are.....well..just that "stupid". How about we concern ourselves with something a little more important..say for instance, how about a tab on the main page for "Misc. Icons"....I don't think it get's the attention that it should and there are some incredibly talented artist there that I don't believe get the exposure they deserve.   O.K...there..I said it !! and I feel so liberated because of it.......so there !!!!      --Ace ---

I think Jafo did a good thing. This is an Internet business. All kinds of folks here. As should be. But, along with that is trying to keep everyone happy.

New comers get to see all venues and diversities available to them on page 1. And one doesn't need to go anywhere they don't want to.

It's mostly just getting used to it. Eventually no one will even notice. It's like a shopping mall instead of a shop.
