Given that one little part of the world gets its months and days arse-about....it's far more sensible to use the mathematical convention of largest units to the left to smallest on the right.... like miles, feet and inches....
...and do the date the same....year - month - day...
...in which case tomorrow is 20111102.
Just one of those [sort of] interesting thingies....

That's the sequence you need to use to get files on your HD to properly sort by name (if the date is part of the name - which is common for me), anyway.

.... it is the 1st day of the 11th month of 2011... which when correctly written is 1.11.2011. Or.... the First of November Two Thousand and Eleven... if you want to get technical.

Says who? When I went to school my maths teacher taught me [along with everyone else] to start counting from the lowest number, that being 1, then upwards.... being there is an infinite number of numbers, and you cannot start at an end which in essence does not exist
So, using that as the most logical mathematical convention, the smaller number would obviously come first... which for the purpose of this deba...er, argument, it the day, followed by the month, which is next smallest and the next logical progression, then the year, which defines which period in the decade/century those days and months belong.
Like anything else in life... you start at the bottom and work up. For example, and as an architect you'd know this, you don't first put up the roof and shove the walls in under later.
So again, says who? 
[yeah, you guessed it, I've nothing better to do than be a right royal pain in the....]

Now, if you want to include hours, minutes and seconds, how about:
2011 11 11 11 11 02
You have ten days three hours and twenty odd minutes to think about it as the world will probably end then
BTW, only GMT counts. The rest of you lot are on Micky Mouse time.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I say 1st of November 2011.... which is more correcter than everything else that's wrong... er, almost right.
So, while we're being testi.... um, technical about time and date, etc, is it correct to say, for example, "a quarter to 5" or should it be 4.45?
Don't wanna know I'm only asking. 
The one that gets me, though, is how people look at you all peculiar if you turn up for lunch at a McDonalds in evening wear... and after dinner mints, why people look at you all strange if you have one or two after breakfast. I mean, WTF is wrong with having a bit of afternoon delight at bedtime? Seems perfectly normal to me.

Tell me....what's the '1' on the left? Is it NOT 'millions' ....and moving right you end up with the '7' ...units....and the '6' is the tens, etc.
