A WB issue

This just began to happen to me and it seems to be localized to this blind only. names have vanished in the start menu as well as the max button. I am hoping someone can shed some light on it.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong but I believe there were two versions of 7.3 released. The first one had some problems that I believe were fixed in the latest release.

that appears to be the rumor but is unconfirmed as there doesn't appear to be an official word about the whole thing. Only thing I'm hearing is if people are having problems or not but an official comment from SD??? and if there is it's buried in some thread somewhere and not an OP, which would be fairly typical.

The first version was 7.30.037, the second, most recent, and so far, working correctly version is 7.30.047. If running Win7/64-Build 310 in about WB

can the update be installed from the saved exe file downloaded from SD?
how can 7.2 be archived just in case. (impulse?)

Yes.
If that is the version shown as currently installed in Impulse, then yes. If not, then not unless you have archived it previously.
Archive 7.2 , then download 7.3 from the store. The one in Impulse was still not fixed as of this morning.
