I have Been Hacked

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 by mrs_starkers | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I just want to let you all know I have been hacked, and I do apologize for this as I didn't know till this morning and so I changed my PWord and again tonight I found that I was blocked from my accounts . so if anyone receives any emails from me at [email protected]  saying click on links, it is not me  I have been hacked once again I am sorry for this. any contact with me will have to be done by private message, as I am trying to protect you all from what has happened to me .  Thanks Doc for letting me know, and thank you all for being so understanding. I am also running  avast, and other cleaners as well

make sure you stay away from online banking with that PC until the problem is solved.
Hope you will get everything working again

Very good suggestion, Rolo.

Nice of you to post this, Shaunna.

Your email got hijacked, so do let the folks at hotmail know this happened. It isn't the first time and won't be the last.

Did some research:

Send an email (using another addy, obviously) to: [email protected]

Describe your problem, and give them all the facts as well as the addy to return email to (don't count on them figuring it out).

Also... try and remember if you had any sensitive data in the emails you didn't delete as the hackers now "own" the account and the info.

You might have to notify your bank, gov't agencies, credit card companies you've been hacked.... to do necessary damage control.

Notify your contacts as well... not to open any emails from the hacked account until you notify them from another email addy with a code sentence

(tell them what it will be) in the title of the email (so they won't open possibly 'tinged/infected' emails until they see that title.

Sorry to hear that Shaunna. Do as Doc suggests and Rolo. No telling what the hijackers got up their sleeves. Good luck.

Just a suggestion Shaunna.

I use a full sentence for my password. Try doing that and make it one easy to remember plus jot it down.

Know how you feel, hopefully you have everything cleaned and back in order.

Unfortunately we can only do so much, as is said, locks are for honest folks, the dishonest will find a way in.  The best we can ever hope to do is make it hard for them to break in and hack our systems.

As though? It has been! Nasty buggers. Hope they get caught! (doubt they will, though).

I'll just bet it was the toilet paper manufacturer's that did that hacking. They are pissed at your hubby for ranting on about the "reduction of paperwork" process that they put in place!

Malwarebytes is a great program, I use it often. I'd get it from here as otherwise, Malwarebytes redirects you through c|net.
