This thread is about a beta only provided to customers.
It would however appear that the WB trial has expired (it was supposed to expire November 2011 according to my records), so we will be putting up a new build hopefully on Monday for that.
It will show up on https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/downloads.asp once it is ready.

I take back my previous comment. 7.3 began screwing things up. Started getting lots of out of memory errors when launching programs. I uninstalled the beta and reverted back to 7.2. Now all is back to normal.

cooperhill uninstalling the beta, a reboot and installing 7.2 worked for me.

JuniorCrooks,
I can reinstall Windowblinds, reboot and it will work fine, but when I do a second restart, it's toast. That's why I said it will only work if I never turn the machine off.
After the restart, Windows Classic comes up. I did as was mentioned previously and chose Windows Aero from WB, then I could go ahead and choose another blind just fine. So the problem is one of WB not loading properly at startup, no matter which archived version I use. Even though I am running 7.19c, the loading at startup is compromised or bugged ever since I did the latest beta update.
Again, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Copperhill

It's so weird; the beta is going just fine on the husband's PC (Haven't put it on my Vista laptop yet; let him test it first), he's changed skins multiple times to see if it'll screw up but nothing so far.

I tried it I still cannot use it with MS Excel correctly, if a size the window to other than a full screen excell does not work correctly, if i change from one page to a different page it will not draw correctly, I was hoping this would be fixed I submitted a ticket on this but I guess it was ignored, I went back to the stable version

Quoting OldMsgt, reply 70I submitted a ticket on this but I guess it was ignored
Nothing was ignored.
Neil Banfield has responded several times in this post, Stardock is looking into it and this is the weekend (support are off work until Monday).
Just because something isn't done as quickly as you deem possible does not mean it was ignored.
Not all problems can be successfully anticipated nor be fixed immediately. From past observation of Neil's diligence, he's been hard at work chasing down the gremlins and fixing them.

It says UIS0 explorer background fix. This is specific to UIS0 skins where some backgrounds would turn funny colours.
@wizard1056
Thanks for the link .. for passing it to RND to pass to me ![]()

@ Joelore: If you have a current subscription to WB or to ODNT do the following:
1. Open Impulse. Un-check "show prerelease versions" in the blue rectangular button. Close Impulse.
2. Reopen Impulse, "Shift + Right click" on WB7 in Impulse and choose "Verify Installation". Let it Run. It will tell you it isn't installed correctly.
3. Download and install the update. Reboot.
You're back to a fully fuctional WB.

Well it may not have been ignored but it has been an on going problem for the is beta in A B C and D now E, versions of this update. However the perception exists that it may well be a very low priority item to fix. We all know that MS excel is not a widely used program by the masses

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, the previous beta update which fixed the Thunderbird 5.0 problem cannot be downloaded and it worked well. I tried to restore it via Impulse but on my Win7 x64 machine, Impulse can no longer restore archives. To get my machine working again, as I often do, I uninstalled all Stardock Software, cleaned the registery, cleared the hard drive of all Stardock products and then reinstalled everything after numerous attempts to fix it including using the Stardock Store Downloads. It's all working again minus the Thunderbird fix from the previous beta.
After ten years or so of using Stardock Software this ain't unusual. I go through periods when I get so pissed off I uninstall everything and do without it for months but I always come back because I get bored with Windows.

DrJBHL,
Thank you very, very much!!!!! Did exactly as you said and the WB was NOT installed correctly. Unchecked "pre-releases", restarted then updated; the beta is now gone replaced by 7.0 and WB is fully functional again even at reboot.

1) Which OS are you on (32 or 64 bit Vista/7)
2) Is your machine set to autologin on reboot?
3) Does a theme reapply by going to classic and then to a WB theme work after the failed skinning at login?
This version of WB has some changes to how WB starts up for forwards compatibility and it may be this is not working quite right in certain edge cases.
For anyone who finds it simply does not work at all could you also answer the above questions and also confirm that the WB about box does not indicate any problems.
1) Which OS are you on (32 or 64 bit Vista/7) Windows 7 SP1 X64
2) Is your machine set to autologin on reboot? No
3) Does a theme reapply by going to classic and then to a WB theme work after the failed skinning at login? No skinning fails altogether after reeboot.
THe "About" as I posted above shows all is installed and activated fine.
