What do you think of Internet Explorer 9?
Tuesday, March 15, 2011 by Leo the Lion | Discussion: Personal Computing
The final version of IE9 was released by Microsoft last night and I installed it on my Windows 7 machine. Only played with it for about 30 minutes so did not have time to explore some of the new stuff but one thing that really impressed me was the speed of the page loading. Wow! Fast or what.........Never been a fan of FF but Chrome has potential.........but now IE9 really sets the pace, speedwise.
Anybody else tried it yet?

IE has one good point. It's there to download Firefox.

I do not know if it is more secure. But to answer your question, there are 2 reasons for the perception it is less secure.
#1 - Microsoft is a bigger bunny and it gets more news coverage (I am up to FF 3.6.16 - 16 bug fixes on FF alone since the 3.6 release).
#2 - It is tied into the OS which gives hackers an easier route to compromise the computer as a whole.
Microsoft announces their bug fixes and the world listens. Firefox just fixes them.
