Forget XP, I want BlackComb

Saturday, August 11, 2001 by SickPuppy | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Yeah, I've seen the video and the customisation features etc are superb/amazing, don't like the idea of paying 99c a month to have a linked calendar and stuff but that's how it's gonna be when .NET takes over

It looks a lot like the liquid/biomechanical type of affair I've mentioned at times........

Yeah, Crae, me too. I thought *I* had a tendency to use too many $0.50 words in polite conversation. I find myself reeling from that barrage of literation...

Oh, and, uh, I fully disagree on the Clinton thing. At least he knew how to be President, even if he was a poor husband. What we have now is a man (and *that's* deabtable) who can only win people's respect by bribing them. (As much as I'll like getting my Tax Relief check, I'd rather there still be something in the Social Security Account when I start to draw from it in 35 years; won't happen at this rate.) And what idiot said he's *lucky* to still be married to that she-demon hag?! (j/k)

As for Blackcomb (and yes, it *is* "comb" like what you run through your hair if you're lucky enough to still have any), what video are you referring to, SickPuppy? I'm a new-tech junky; and although I've heard the Black*C*omb name kicked around for about a year now, I haven't seen many specifics.

Slow down guys, my personal distaste towards Clinton goes way beyond his sexual life, which is obviousely some peoples only concern. As a persident he did more harm than good

I wasn't trying to start a politcal debate here, I just have strong opinions when it comes to the government;)

An, SQL filesystem. Kinda like the database filesystem that BeOS has had for ages?

Uh, oh. My last post could be interpreted as a drive-by Microsoft bashing. So I'll amend it to: Yes, database file systems rock. I've been using it on BeOS, and find myself missing it terribly when I have to get back to windows. This approach of using user-defined attributes is similar to what Microsoft was trying to accomplish with Win2K. I think they ran out of time.

MiserME http://www.xs4all.nl/~noto/wxperience/blackcomb/Blackcomb.zip it's a 4.9meg download and lasts about 5 minutes, it's obviously an internal MS briefing and gives a little insight into the way things are gonna go.... Downhill rapidly I'd say
