WinCustomize Subscriptions are a Rip off
Monday, December 13, 2010 by Carl | Discussion: Community
So, not only do people have to BUY the software for object desktop, but, there is a subscription fee to pay in order to be able to download ANY themes, cursors, icon packages etc.
What a god damn mother f***ing rip off.

good point ID. Besides that, I suspect that 90% of the impulse bitchers are just feeble and couldn't read it anyway.

The op isn't 'bitching' (to use your expression) about having to use Impulse. His complaint is about not being able to download any skins after reaching his limit.
Well excuse the f#%*k out of me for pissing in your garden Hankers. I made an observation. This thread isn't in the support section and isn't restricted to varying degrees of the topic.
JFC... I've been sitting back on the sidelines for the most part for quite a bit now and being pretty positive. Now a Wizop has to get bent over NOTHING.
THE FINAL STRAW.
Later everyone. It's been a nice run for the better part of 9 years.

Ahhhh, if only more things in life were as reasonably priced as my WC renewal.... things would be so much nicer... [drifts off into a pleasant dream state]....

Used to be you could download if you contributed to the galleries, even if you weren't a current customer or subscriber.
Is it still that way?

I could be wrong but I believe it's tied to the promotions. Apprentice will get you unlimited downloads but still see ads. The sub removes the ads for those of us who've been promoted. Promotion is based on participation.

guys, phoon didn't deserve either of those posts. when i was an op for the site and made a post along the lines of yours towardsa user who attacked me personally, i was lamblasted by certain ops and wizops. an apology to phoon is definitely warranted in this case. i was told it's one thing for a site user to be upset and be a smart*ss but ops and wizops shouldn't.

I think folks just need to take a breather here and back away from this thread. Lets see if Carl comes back. ![]()

I love Mondays.
If I weren't so fucking awesome, I don't think I could stand these kinds of threads.
Perhaps you should come bask in my awesomeness for a while. Perhaps that will help
ease the pain in your sphincter that is causing you to behave like such a crusty dragon.

This thread sucked to begin with and really took a bad turn later on.

Correct.
Maddeez: You should back out and conduct all comments in PM. You know that. Phoon happens to be wrong in this, and Hankers' comment to him was spot on and appropriate. If you differ, that's for pm.

phoon's comments are not out of line. he may have gone off on a tangent from the original post but he does have a valid complaint. personally, i have no problem with Impulse at all and have never had any issues with. But, as you and other ops know, numerous other WC members have complained about Impulse since it was first introduced. the ops and wizops reactions to his comments were uncalled for. as i said before, when i called out a member who attacked me personally when i was an op here., i was lamblasted in IRC by a few of the other ops and wizops. behavior by ops/wizops on the forum is to be civil, or so i was told.
"You know that" ? if i know that, so do the ops/wizops. if what i have to say should be said via PM, so should have the comments towards Phoon. btw, Phoon is NOT wrong.

Here's another interesting observation -
The op isn't 'bitching' (to use your expression) about having to use Impulse. His complaint is about not being able to download any skins after reaching his limit.
