Is this a rip?

I really don't know how to proceed, since the person gave the credits in the skin's description, but never asked for my persmission and also changed my original graphics (erasing the skins real name of the titlebar).
I remember that last year, someone made a rip's list at skinz org and all the ripped skins were banished from the damn winamp.com site.
It seems that this kind of sucking things will never ands there.

This is a stolen work belonging to one of the world's most respected Skinners. I know this, because I was privvy to his original release prior to it going public. I have known Renato for years, as a fellow skinner, and am disgusted that an admitted 'rip' is allowed to be posted.
It is disrespectful to treetog's good name and reputation in the skinning community.
If you admire his work, praise it, don't steal it under whatever dubious motive you think is justification. There is none.
Here is a copy and paste from Renato's text file in his skin....hence why I am annoyed personally.
Thanking: I would like to express my profound gratitude to 3 special good friends:
Russ Schwenkler aka Dangeruss, for all his suport and advise on many skins, specially in the HVD theme.
Paul Martin aka Jafo, for making so well the winamp region file for me, but his Spanish is still worse then my english.

Johanne Chainé aka Alexandrie, for teaching me how to make scripts for the WB skinned menus.
Not only should this be removed, and since treetog has just uploaded the original to this site, a public apology should be forth-coming.
Imagine my disgust when I received a WinAMP newsletter featuring a rip of something I helped out with.
And I wonder why I have never posted my skins here.
Just remove this, now.
This is also the wish of the Original author.

We at WinCusto are the 'good guys'...unfortunately the same cannot be said for a number of people at Nullsoft....

Congratulations, Ma'am....
You shall be hence-forth forever known as a despicable child who has no better talent than to be able to recognise it in others.
I am disgusted with your attitude, and with the apparent tardiness of action from Nullsoft. However their hypocrisy of position is all the site hits they get when something controversial turns up.
However...if all the 'real' WinAMP skinners were to leave this site...all that would be left would be Photoskin rubbish and rips like this one.

She doesn't seem to like me any more.....my mention of viruses has got her worried.
Silly little dweeb...I wouldn't do such a thing.
I'd much rather steal another's artwork...

I'm unlikely to give details, but suffice it to say that it would really be in your interest, if you wish a career in skinning for people, to change your attitude and treat your fellow human beings with a little respect.
One of the problems with the internet is it tries to be a great leveller....even age doesn't form a barrier...however, the more mature members of society are forced to endure the teenage rantings and vitriol of those, 30 years their junior.
Please note just a few things.
I would never propagate a virus....I know their effects only too well.
I first started skinning in 1997 and know or have known virtually all of the 'big names' in the community.
I was a skinner before skinz.org was started.
I was one of the first to experiment with winamp transparency.
I helped treetog with that very skin you like so much.
I did the pink bits that you couldn't hide in your screenshot.
We are a friendly and close-knit group of enthusiasts who agree with you that it is a fantastic skin.
But,
It is not yours, and was not yours to post. Even if you left it exactly as it was and posted it as treetog's work, you are still not allowed to do so without his permission. If you had asked him, he may have just uploaded it there for you.
Renato is a really nice person, who doesn't need to be insulted in this way.
If you wish to make amends, may I suggest that you remove the skin, and perhaps contact treetog himself to talk about it.
There is no need for this to be a slanging match.
I think I have been reasonably polite, if not, I apologise...I'm usually above that.
Cheers,
Paul
