Here's me still 'at it' skinning the controls/cockpit of a Republic F105...buzzing over Melbourne at mach 1.5 and scaring the pants off the locals.....there's one of 'em just to the left of the HUD....he's the blip front/center of the head-up radar.
Not just altering xml....but hunting down photos of the aircraft to add 'bits' of detail to make things a little more realistic....things like the throttle quadrant and main radar cowl....are borrowed from various photos....re-skewed/sized/rotated/etc to suit.
The 'skinning' involved is about as 'complicated' as it gets.
If I get REALLY eager I'll start from scratch and make it all fair-dinkum exact. [there's poetic licence as is...to suit screen proportions/resolution.]
This is about how SKINNING differs from wallpaper making.....the result can be interfaced with.....buttons move....gauges read [all those gauges actually work]....![]()
SKINNING's FUN .....![]()

Needs a background... a theme idea/concept... Maybe a fighter jet... ![]()

Doc, you are aware than you can shorten the space between icons in the Nexus dock by opening the Dock Properties dialog -> Appearance -> Icon Spacing?
Also, change the style of the Weather module to 'Style 2' - I think you will thank me for it, the new default weather icons are nothing short of amazing. ![]()
Finally, to change Ethan's style, open WorkShelf Preferences and... just kidding! Gorgeous baby.

Yeah, Doc got it right...
as far as the other monitor goes, I haven't quite figured a useful way to skin it yet. I mean, other than putting a wallpaper and taskbar on it. The point is I don't use it as much, although as you know a second monitor does come in very handy.
I also changed out my 2nd "monitor" for a 42" HDTV, which I also use for my PS3 and Dish Network. When I am not at work, I think my a*s is growing roots in my chair.

So in the pic, I got the 42" HDTV (16:9 / 1080i) and a 28" monitor (16:10 / 1920x1200), and yeah... there is a little lag on the HDTV when used on with a computer (not when gaming though, which is kinda weird.?.)

Now, if someone would update Multipass Carbon for 7, I'd be ecstatic! ![]()
