Start Menu for 64bit win7
Saturday, August 28, 2010 by Toms88 | Discussion: ObjectDock
Ive just bought the whole Object Desktop package. After setting everything up i wanted to get rid of my windows task bar and fully replace its functions in object dock. All works ok other than the Start menu button which states its not yet compatible with 64bit win7. Does anyone know if this is an issue thats being worked on? Is there any way of setting objectdock in 32bit mode??
Thanks!

OK so even though i just paid £30 for Object Desktop which includes ObjectDock i actually have to pay for a beta to get it working on 64bit win7?
Ridiculous....

Object Desktop does not include Objectdock, it is a separate purchase. You may have the free version of 1.9 installed, if so it is not Windows 7 64 bit ready.

there's a lot of nonsense and very little clarity when it comes to objectdock upgrades, versions, and inclusions; especially future ones.
personally i've also always hated that docklet because it moves my start menu away from the lower left.

the solution to my problem should work as a solution to yours as well~
go to http://www.tordex.com/tools/ and download presstart 1.4. it's just a tiny .exe that triggers the start menu; so just put that .exe in your objectdock folder or wherever you feel like keeping it, then make a shortcut in object dock that points to it. voila~
