You can remove the microsoft throbber!

Thursday, July 8, 2004 by I.R. Brainiac | Discussion: Skinning

this webpage has a way to remove it. http://toastytech.com/evil/lab.html#throboff
Even tho it claims to be for win98,it worked perfect on winXP.There are 2 reg entries to be clicked in the zip file.I didnt even have to unzip them(self-installing,no reboot),then just reset your views the way you want them.My toolbars look fantastic!(the way I designed them)

Yes, we had another thread with this subject a little time ago. It made me a very happy man, I hate that throbber. Without it the system looks so much better.

I can't believe it's gone! It looks a lot nicer now, it had a white box around it before.

You can skin it with WindowBlinds, but has the same issue as the Go button where it sticks.

Since toolbar Icons. Have a look at Alloy Bezel but it seems nobody noticed.
However Explorer requires to be restarted as I said it has the same issue as the Go button because it sticks.

I hadn't looked at that skin in ages but tested it last night to see if the throbber still runs and it does.

Have a look in .ToolBarIcons with notepad the code is hidden. Theres 3 vertical strips for the throbber, as Explorer uses the first state image in all 3.

Web-blinds had/has the ability to change the throbber, I would think that it would be fairly simple to include that feature with WindowBlinds.

Ofcourse I'm just assuming.
