Windowsblinds push buttons

Sunday, January 11, 2004 by Funkygranny | Discussion: Skinning

When creating a skin I can't seem to recolour or change the pushbuttons. It disappears completely. Can anybody out there tell me how to solve this?

What version of WIndowBlinds, SkinStudio (if you're using that), what image editor are you using, and what format are you using for the buttons?

You may be using a bmp in place of what was a tga. If you do, and translucency is still enabled, it can cause the button to disappear.

Recoloring a tga file can be tricky, especially if the image isn't square or rectangle. What I do is just copy the image only and paste it as a new image. Then recolor only the image and thereby leaving the transparency alone. If you recolor the new image and copy it back to the position in the TGA it should work. It worked for me. Your way, the image did disappear. You can also make the images from scratch and save them as a png and load the new images you created, and SS will create the tga for you.

I am using WindowsBlinds 4.2 and I use photodraw to edit my images.

I am guilty of exactly that. I will try the different approach.
Thank you
