Valence Shell Trilogy-WIP
Monday, June 21, 2010 by Mirsguy | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I'm going to go all-out this time. I'm beginning work on the first WindowBlind in a trilogy of themes. The family of themes is caled Valence Shell, which will be futuristic and sci-fi.
Each theme will include skins for WindowBlinds, ObjectDock, IconPackager, and possibly CursorFX.
I am starting off with Valence Shell 1: Plasma Canon, which is a steel mixed with a little dark glass, and a lot of plasma green highlights.
Valence Shell 2: Ultra Violet and Valence Shell 3: Proton Beam will follow.
These skins will be designed for Windows 7, Vista & XP.

A trilogy of windowblinds themes+iconpackages? WOW. Hope we will get to see these beauties done before Christmas Just kidding. Like I said before I don't like the start button at all but I usually like your work and I have no doubt that this will be awesome too. Can't wait

This sounds like a great Trilogy and the first Theme is looking very good.

Fathers day is over and already back to work. Sorry I have to keep saying the same thing.

Deea, what would you suggest?

Agreed, if your going all out, the start button needs some extra imagination, also watch the gradient banding in the start menu glass.

What I would suggest? I was thinking about a simple square button but when it has the mouse over it should have an animation, it should be open like a door and reveal some sort of green animation (or violet depending on the skin). It's just an idea, but i personally think everything would be better then that retro START text. I have seen some previews of the icon folders that you have made for this skin and they looked so futuristic, this skin definitely deserves a better start button

Here's some sort of animation that I was thinking for the start button (after mouse over opening) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ5LK9zYp7Q

I will definitely give that some thought. Thanks!
I may make an alternate start button... cuz, well... I kinda like this one.

I, personally, like the start button, but maybe not the text.
Lookin' good, Brian.

I must ask, and I may be showing my red neck here, but shouldn't it be Plasma Cannon?

Ya know, I'm a photographer... and... photographers spell Canon with one n!
Maybe I oughtta rethink this skin and call it the Canon Mark 7d!
Reply #16 Monday, June 21, 2010 10:54 PM
Lol!! I have a Canon printer....does that help, nah!
Reply #17 Monday, June 21, 2010 11:11 PM
I like the overall shape of the button.... I trust Brian's imagination more than RnD's 'cannon'...

One thing for sure--don't let RedneckDude do a DX theme for you. Look what he did with Aero Station.

Please excuse the "Duh" factor, but what the heck is that?
