Monday, May 31, 2010 by kcgirl1313 | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hi, I am new to this site. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I have always wanted a different look for my windows and chose to download Windowblinds. I am trying to download "kernow"..

Anyhow, it downloads, and then says this....."Windows cannot open this file because it does not know who published it...Then it wants me to choose how to find who published it, and my choices are...

1. Find on the internet

or

2. Open with ? file..

So, i chose to open it with Adobe reader...Why?....who knows....And now it won't open with adobe reader, and i can't get it to change "to open it with"....And, i don't know what to open it with to begin with

Sorry, if i sound like an idiot here....lol

But, i need help please....hope you can understand my dilemma?....lol

Anyone willing to help, will be much appreciated.....Just learning this stuff, but am very quick at learning.....

Thanks!,

Kelly:)

You need the Windowblinds program to run them. Check it out here: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/  Once you have the program, you can just double click the file and it will auto install.

KCGirl...make sure the file you are trying to open ends with .wba....if it doesn't it's not an actual windowblind. It's more likely a msstyle file or another of those that hacks your system. And if you have a paid for version of windowblinds...there are literally tons of free skins out there to be had...but there are also what are called "Premium" or "Master skins" that are sold by experienced skinners who also have free skins...but the Premium ones help pay the bills.

The free version of windowblinds times out in 30 days...the paid one does not.

WebGizmos.....I am pretty sure it was a .wba file....I got it from this website...is that not good enough?...could it still be an msstyle file?

Also, do i have to pay to have Windowblinds?....Or, can i get it for free?

Thanks again,

Kelly:)

There is a 30 day demo version, after the 30 days if you want to keep using WindowBlinds then you would have to purchase it.
