ID.... We're seeing alot of totally pointless posts, from all kinds of users, all over the multitude of forums we have.
It -can- be a nightmare for anyone to find something usefull, if looking to answers/help.

It's getting a tad out of hand, but I guess if that's the official stand, so be it.

Now that is true. I've been bumping the hell out of one lately...to almost no avail.

Me too, and no one is running anyone off, I think were as free to speak our opinion as anyone else. A community is going to have varying opinions about its content. One guys\girls humor maybe be anothers dribble.

My personal opinion is this sort of post shouldn't be topping the list of Forum posts on the front page of Wincustomize.com, If I was a first time visitor I would be wondering if I had came to the wrong site.

I dunno, If that makes me a stick in the mud then so be it. I just care about the future of the site.

IIRC,the Support forum has a " no-nonsense" policy but surely General Discussion is or at least should be open to anything within WC guidelines.

This isn't any different than any of the "game" threads. You don't look for news in the funny papers.

As for all the bumping to get noticed, hasn't anyone noticed they get a reply when SD is damn good and ready to reply, regardless of the number of bumps or by whom.

I remember7-8 years ago when we used to post crap just to have fun and liven up the place.  Now if ya try  your tying up resources.  The boards are so sterile now its not worth looking at unless ya get off on seeing all the WHIP threads.  Theres a place for a little of everything and the general forum is for the BS.

The only section of Stardocks' Forums which is restricted to 'sensible contribution' is Support.

One of the more 'enduring' threads still around is "People will hit me, but...." - posted by me...

Talk about tying up resources. is it just me or has anybody else noticed that this post has 5 replies and the other 23 are because somebody decided to voice their un-solicited opinion? That's 25 posts, including this one, that wouldn't have been there wasting Stardock resources. Quit hijacking threads. it's when people do that threads get out of hand and grow out of control. I have to agree with the constant bumping to. Sure if it's been a few days and you need an answer. Otherwise any person who is probably qualified to answer and wants to answer will be browsing the forums anyway and will find the post.

Damn it skinning is supposed to be fun and I think this place for skinners should be to!

I just don't get the issue, here. Skinners are free to post what they want, and they do. Or they can come to any old sandbox here...the more the merrier. Pixel Pushers Wanted!

What's this bullshit about, "when threads were about skinners helping skinners"???   As i recall, and I've been here a few years now, there has always been inane, silly and pointless threads to help break the monotony and bring a little fun to the boards.... and quite a few skinners began and/or participated in them. 

What's more, there are defined areas devoted to skinning both in the 'General' and 'Customization' sections, where skinners can help skinners, so what's the dig diff if this is posted in a 'general topic' area??  If this were posted in one of those "skinning" or "customization" boards (along with dozens of others) and skinners had to wade through dozens of inane, pointless and silly threads to reach the important bits, I could understand the objection... but it's not... and I can't.

And John, lighten up.  You've participated in more than a dozen or six pointless, inane and silly threads over the years, so dig your feet into those stirrups and squeeze your knees together... otherwise you'll fall off that high horse of yours.  In other words, he who is without sin.... and you know what they say about people who live in glass houses, dontcha.
