Customization Index up over 5% in January

Each month we use the Alexa statistics to calculate a interest points in a series of long running customization sites.
The sites used for the index include:
WinCustomize, deviantART, Deskmod, Neowin, Skinz.org, SKinbase, Customize, Pixtudio, Skinnables.org, Teknidermy, ArtUproar.
Taking their Alexa ranking we use this formula: 1E6 X (1/Ranking^1.25).
In January, the total score was 9.0. This month it increased to 9.5 with much of the increase due to increased popularity of WinCustomize, deviantART, and in particular Neowin who saw its ranking jump nearly 10% in the past month.
March should be very interesting since that will be the unveiling of an immense amount of new customization software and streaming video on how to make skins, themes, and more.

I have a theory. I suspect that there's some correaltion between the interest in customization and the unemployment rate.

Neowin's forums are often very active on the customization scene; and have new skin,icon & wallpapers released directly within the various forum categories on the site.
This is most likely why they are included in the customization index Frogboy is using.

Neowin's forums are the most consistently available place to obtain msstyles. And much of the news and forum topics are about customization.

I think it would be interesting to see site statistics for WC. Not that you want to be like another website but DigitalArt.org http:\\www.digitalart.org has a page which gives you all sorts of interesting statistics about there site. Check it out here http://digitalart.org/info.statistics.php and maybe WC could do it too.
