Karen's Sister Has Passed Away
Thursday, March 18, 2010 by DrJBHL | Discussion: Community
Dear Karen,
It's so very difficult to write these words. You have been a friend for so long, through thick and thin. Always a passionate artist, I've seen you become a skinner, and a darned good one.
So, when you im'd me about the loss of your sister today, I was left speechless and hurting. Doctors are supposed to know what to say and do in situations like this, and I suppose that many do. Being your friend, I can only hurt for you. I know this terrible grief is just being added on to all the other sadness you've been enduring.
I feel completely inadequate in conveying this sorrow, and in finding words to comfort you. I wish I could pop over to your place and just sit with you....but I can't. That hurts too. I know Vampothika would want to be there for you, as would all of your friends here. She is with the Great Spirit. She no longer suffers, and is a much, much better place, Karen. Grieve as you feel you must.
With great sorrow,
Seth
Karen won't be on-line around for some time, people... but maybe she'll see any messages left here for you out of friendship, love and caring.

So very sorry Karen. No other words will help as only love, time and the nice memories will will help to ease your pain. I prey to my wife everyday to get me through each day now that she is no longer here with me anymore and will ask her to help you through this very sad time.

Thank you, everybody. I'm pretty numb right now...probably going to hit me like a ton of bricks when I attend the funeral on Sunday. I'm flying to Wisconsin in Saturday. Going "home" always makes me sad inside anyway, because the passing of time is so strong--seeing the changes in everybody and everything. My youngest sister told me to be prepared when I see my father, because he's changed--going through chemotherapy for his prostate cancer and has Cushingoid changes--and she told me he's not going to survive his cancer (she has a Ph.D. in nursing and teaches at the University of Wisconsin, so I trust her prognosis...but I HATE it!).
