A brand new update of ObjectDock is available.ObjectDock is a freeware program that provides a taskbar and program launcher but does it with style.
New in version 0.65:
x-Auto-hide
x-Skinnable background, selectable via dropdown.
x-"Foreground" overlays
x-Background transparency adjustable (currently only 1 slider for all)
x-Background skin can have different images for different edges of the screen
x-Fixed no magnification title bug
x-Improved bouncing, sped up poof animation slightly
x-Fixed 8bit icons loading crashing the dock
x-Fixed not being able to drag item off to the dock delete if not on bottom
x-Drag/drop improved: multiple files can now be dropped once, system shortcuts can be dropped (e.g. "My Computer", "Internet Explorer", etc)

Objectbar + Objectdock = everything you need. Dock is just a dock. Use Objectbar for your start menu, systray and all that.
Anyway I still love it. The auto hide is nice and smooth
Next version I know we'll see a fix to the logoff bug so I'm not too concerned. Hope to see it sticky on Control Center's BandVWM soon...

My temporary solution until Stardock (hopefully!) integrates the start menu/systray into ObjectDock:
1) In Windows (XP at least), right click on the taskbar and turn off "Autohide taskbar" as well as "Keep taskbar on top of other windows"
2) Turn off "Hide Windows Taskbar" in ObjectDock
3) Use CTRL-ESC and/or start/Windows key on keyboard to access taskbar. The taskbar will show with your Dock and disappear to the back when it's not in focus.

So far I'm happy with the dock, it really shows how far along re-creating the OSX experience has come. 
There is one thing I am wondering about though: Is there any way to physically move the location of the dock so it is not completely centered on the screan? The reason I ask is because I have a DesktopX theme I've been working on, and the dock doesn't complement the particular design yet. More importantly though, I ask because my girlfriend is visiting Canadia tomorrow from Southern Cali, and she's very familar with Mac OSX already, so I wanted to give her the best of both worlds. So, it would be nice to have the dock work with the theme instead of against it. Here's what it looks like so far...

I can't decide whether to use this or the taskbar. They're both great, and I already have ObjectBar taking up the top of the screen.

jarget u still need the systray, cause some programs stay running in the background and objectdock doesnt show them.

Any tips on finding good .png icons? Someone had mentioned the Clotz 2000 icons, but the page seems to have disappeared & I'm not sure how to use DesktopX zoomers.

I have some comments and reports of problems I have found. Some may repeat. I do like this project alot---very nice work.
*At times you lose the ability to switch windows with alt-tab
*Many programs dont show up on the dock as being open or minimized, or do not consistently show up (winamp and leapftp are 2)
*Some programs (such as winamp) have a selection that asks to be placed on the task. When its chosen the task bar comes back (when suppressed) and at the point the dock is more prone to glitches
*Some sort of right click option the allow you to close a window on the open windows. Maybe on the dock taskbar part when right-clicking, there could be a mini menu to edit the class icon and close the window
*Obviously access to the start menu...or maybe when its enabled the start menu could be part a right click (when not above the dock)
*Turning off the computer doesnt work when the dock is active
*It may need a 3rd section for the system tray...too many things use it to not have it included or some sort of access to it.
Think thats it for now. Im sure you guys will get to it. Great job so far.

I can completely live without the Start button, I have a Win key. But I think this REALLY needs a systray. It would make it PERFECT.

aaamm! I can't turn off my PC without having to turn off Object dock, but the new release is pretty neat, maybe popups menus and a start button would make it a full replacement, but then what about the systemtray...!

I don't understand why alot of people keep asking for a systray and start button. Isn't this just to replace the icons on the desktop? I mean ALL the other dock emulations for windows only have icons no taskbar no systray no start button. I don't have a MAC or want a MAC but does the dock on there do any of the extra things people ask for? Anyways has anyone else used Foods icons? http://www.foood.net/icons/index.htm The PNG files for the XP I-Candy look very clean when the icons zoom out.

Oh, any chance in a temperature icon. I use AWS, and like to see the temp all day long especially now that it's cold.
