A brand new update of ObjectDock is available.ObjectDock is a freeware program that provides a taskbar and program launcher but does it with style.
New in version 0.65:
x-Auto-hide
x-Skinnable background, selectable via dropdown.
x-"Foreground" overlays
x-Background transparency adjustable (currently only 1 slider for all)
x-Background skin can have different images for different edges of the screen
x-Fixed no magnification title bug
x-Improved bouncing, sped up poof animation slightly
x-Fixed 8bit icons loading crashing the dock
x-Fixed not being able to drag item off to the dock delete if not on bottom
x-Drag/drop improved: multiple files can now be dropped once, system shortcuts can be dropped (e.g. "My Computer", "Internet Explorer", etc)

Great dock. One of the best. However, it has a major flaw in one of its most important features, autohide. My computer, running Windows XP, won't shutdown under that feature and I guess it's not only me.

iOn: move your mouse back to the edge of the screen where the dock used to be - it should pop back up. that's the point of auto-hide - it hides when you're not hovering over it, which is helpful to avoid having the dock cover part of your application when you're running something full screen

Jafo, that's cool, but I don't use Litestep and I don't want to. Litestep is a shell replacement, and I don't care to replace the entire shell, just the taskbar. ObjectDock is "almost" a real viable replacement, but not quite.
If with LiteStep you put a start menu in the corner of the screen or somewhere else (not in ObjectDock), I still don't think that looks right and would rather see one built into ObjectDock, along with a system tray.

So that's who's to blame for the XP Logoff bug I picked up . I installed so much stuff in the last 24 hours I had no idea where to look. Hope it gets fixed soon because I am LOVING the program

spoke too soon.... the quit syscommand causes the programme to seize up and crash..... anyone with this experience?

Very cool...this technology needs to be stuffed into ObjectBar IMHO.
Very smooth even on an 800MHz PIII. 
On Win2K with font smoothing enabled the text for the first icon that gets focus isn't smooth. All of the others are. The text stays this way until the icon either goes away or OD's text properties are changed. Then it starts all over again with the next icon that gets focus.
Other than that and the few issues posted above, great product!
I too would like this to become a total replacement for the taskbar. That's why I'd like to see the tech get into ObjectBar. I can see a Linux warf zooming from autohide with nice tooltips and OBVIOUS mouse-overs.

I second that...please return to the old version of bouncing, or make the bounce type optional (slow, medium or fast). Also, four bounces seems to be too much, maybe two, or even one? Again: How about making the number an option.
Would still like to see the ability to have a pop-up menu under various icons, so that one icon could launch several different programs. (Example: A "favorite" icon that pops up a menu holding Internet favorites.)

This ver also works correctly with the LS VWM...the previous ones only showed up in the desktop it was started in.

I LOVE IT! there's only one problem: if you use it with netmeeting, until this version it complained about directdraw. now it doesn't, but once you close netmeeting, the original taskbar of windows returns. (I'm on xp)
the right-click menus would be really necessary, I must agree.

The Object Dock still goes crazy and starts flickering if a Quicktime movie is playing and another window/broswer is ontop of it.
I gotta be able to place it where I want to, it is not too good when it is in the middle of the two monitors.
Start and Sys tray objects are a must have. (and an ability to switch off the taskbar forever and give us a boost in performance )
I think I would prefer to be able to set my icons in the "Configure object dock" menu, possibly a tab along the top, rather than on right click and give us "normal" right click options.
In fact couldn't the "Configure object dock" menu be move to the "Display Properties" dialogue along with the Windoblinds "Skins" tab?
(Is there a way to keep the icons from my older Dock installs, rather than having to redo them each time I install a new version?)
I don't want a lot do I?

Maybe it's just me, but if I move the transparency slider all the way down, then there's no way to bring up the Dock Properties or make it quit. Obvious quickfix is to add sys commands for both of these, but it's probably just something that got overlooked... Having trouble dragging and dropping (System) icons onto the dock... it'll make space for the icon, but then nothing will show up... Keep up the great work!

Kuma san, just copy the dockitems.ini file into your new install folder. The shortcuts and icons should be there when you load it up then.

With win xp, I can't log off or shutdown the computer with object dock open. Not a huge deal, but with it hidden, I forget it is there and startblaming M$
