A new dark Theme for WinCustomize
First alternative theme for WinCustomize - a skin for our skinning site.

Hi
Have you ever wished there would be some alternative themes for our beloved site?
Most likely you did, after all we all love skinning and using alternative themes for our applications.
Not sure if you know already, but there is a way to skin websites, it's called "Stylish" for Firefox.
Stylish is an Add-on for Firefox that let's the user apply various styles to existing websites.
There are many styles (themes) for popular sites such as Google, Facebook etc.
It's one of the coolest Add-ons I know that let you style your web, quite futuristic.
The paradox is, there is no theme for Wincustomize, our beloved site that is one of the biggest skinning communities.
Well, there wasn't until today.
I took the mission to make the first alternative dark theme for WinCustomize and Wincustomize Beta.
It's optimized mostly for the beta site but works on both so when the beta will become the main site it'll work the same.
To use it you'll need to install Stylish add on for Firefox from here - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108
Then to apply the style, just one click on "Install with Stylish" here - http://userstyles.org/styles/25121
Hope you'll enjoy it,
comments are welcome.

Well, you have to choose the dark option in the forums I didn't apply the theme on the forums out of respect to the cool dark design from WC. If you choose dark on the toolbar up the forum it works. The bug is that the forum doesn't remember the choice between browser sessions. Anyway, I'm considering forcing the script on the forums also (because of the annoying bug). I'd let you know if I update the script to include the forums). Thanks for reminding me anyway. It's definitly your "kill white background" script that's skinning the forums.

Aha...sorry for the misunderstanding, I mentioned in the original description that the style is potimized for the beta-site, assuming it'll become the main site soon anyway. I admit the style isn't fully compatible with the old site, maybe I should add few lines to the code anyway and improve it, I'll have a look now and update the post if i manage to improve it.

Thanks, that's good to hear. I agree with you, I'll focus on the beta site. Anyway, I did a quick fix for the old site's forums.

I did some updates to the code that improve the look. Some un-skinned areas are done in the galleries.
Got rid of a header in the forums that was cut-off.
Anyway, I updated the script, please update it if you're using it - http://userstyles.org/styles/25121

Thanks for the feedback ImStein and OldMsgt! Happy you found my BlackFox theme, it's waiting for editor's approval so long. OldMsgt, have you installed the slideshow images from space I did for BlackFox? It's included in the theme and you can apply it so it appears on an empty tab as background image. I've been using this style a while now and it does make WC easier to use.
It would be nice if the light panel shown below could be fixed though...

Thanks for the feedback Fuzzy Logic. That must be in the old WC site. I'm focusing more on the beta site, Old site not fully skinned, I know... I'll try anyway when I have the time. Still working on improving the beta, please give it a try, anyway we'll have to get used to it...

I have updated the theme, made new buttons for the articles page and fixed the quote image that was white(I made custom images for both). More updates in this direction are planned. Eventually I'll restyle all the images and the theme will be fully skinned. Download the Theme from Here

The only problem I have with it is using the default wincustomize page giving stars cannot be done as the dowmload button it samck dab in the middle when you go to select a rating.

Does not work well in default Wincustomize the download button is smack in the middle of the star rating when you go to give a rating and cannot give a rating because of it See Image

Ok....I am trying Stylish for the first time. So far, I am really liking it. I have gotten into dark themes, and this is just rocking my world. Thank you for pointing me to Stylish and the theme you created!!!
