The previews on the far right, do they only show up if you have multiple monitors? Because I'm not seeing them.

YEEHAW!

I created a second PhotoDream by renaming it, then dropping into the dreams directory.  And now I can have TWO photodreams playing, one per monitor, each with different random image sequences.  8)))))))))

CPU usage is nada, so I will be doing the acid test on the triple display tonight...

UPDATE! The new beta solved these issues for me completely on my uber 3 monitors, 2 GPU system. As long as I create three versions of Photodream (just by copying and renaming), and then assigning each one to a different monitor, there is no explorer.exe performance hit, etc. etc. My dwm.exe use is 10%-ish with THREE complete dreams playing on 30", 30", and 24" monitors. 8))))))

Yes.  There was no point making them show on a single monitor system as there is nothing to change.

Did anyone else have trouble with fences when they loaded this update? It stopped working for me altogether.

Debug new Dream notes: Watercolor and Water Dream doesn't work on any of three monitors, as mentioned above. Copper Pool, Winter Snow, Desktop Earth, Desktop Slideshow seem to work but there if you try too many combinations under multiGPU you can cause the second and third monitors to start flashing. 8) Logging off then on again to reset things seems to do the trick in fixing such confusion. PhotoDream works fabulously, even keeping separate settings for each instance copied into the dreams directory. So you can have different photo directories, backgrounds, etc. on each monitor. DesktopCollage works but even separate running instances share one settings file between them, so you can't have one collage of landscapes on one monitor, another of celebrities on another, for example. Video dreams work flawlessly for me, mixing and matching with full acceleration. Again, if you want the same video dream playing on all monitors, it's best to create duplicate instances of it in your dreams directory. The act of "cloning" any dream from one GPU to another GPU can cause the 100% explorer.exe behavior. I hope these notes help! This is the best thing to happen to Deskscapes ever, IMHO.

The watercolour dream is a very slow moving dream which can sometimes look like nothing is happening (We also don't include it with Deskscapes due to some odd incompatibility issues with that one - especially on XP)

The water dream seems to be working fine here though.

Regarding duplicating dreams, if you only have a single GPU but multiple monitors attached (such as the example in the screenshots where there are 3 monitors but only one graphics card), you would be better off just setting it on the all monitors' monitor.

If you have multiple gpus then you only need to set a copy on the non primary adapter.  If the primary is running two screens then setting both to the same dream would be more efficient than setting a copy to each.

I rebooted and now fences is working along with the new Deskscapes beta.  Maybe if you hold hour mouth just so and concentrate hard, all these toys will play together nicely.  I like the new effects

"If you have multiple gpus then you only need to set a copy on the non primary adapter. Assuming you wanted the exact same image playing on both screens in sync. As for me, I want each of three monitor to be playing a different instance of PhotoDream. 8)

The Watercolor Dream is not working at all. The same behavior happened with previous betas if one tries to turn on an effect with any dream other than a video dream. They all choke the same way...re: black screen on monitor, still on preview. But in this case, the preview works for Watercolor Dream, but it doesn't work on any monitor or combination thereof. 8(

I have three monitors, 2 GPUs (1 is built in / ATI surround view). Monitors 1 + 2 are on PCI-E card, 3 is built in.

If I try to make 3 different than 1 + 2 I get an Unable to play dream error: Unable to start DirectX on your machine. Please try rebooting and if this continues try updating your video drivers. After the error 1 + 2 show but 3 doesn't.

If I change monitor 2 leaving 1 + 3 the same It applies but monitor 2 flickers between both DeskScapes. And after I am have problems changing them all back. Selecting all monitors does not change monitor 2 and when I do change it and apply it is still flickering to the old DeskScapes. Disabling DeskScapes and changing all again seems to fix it. During the above I also ran into problems with config stop responding.

Edit:  I should add if I leave all 3 monitors the same it works like expected on all 3.  Also, I still have problems making the 3RD monitor different if I am using all static jpeg wallpapers not just DeskScapes.

Edit: Can anybody explain why my line returns where in this post (I had to re-insert them)?

I am also experiencing problems with video playback in XBMC until I pause DeskScapes.

It sounds like your HD 3200 isn't up to running the dreams when in surround view mode.

Regarding the black snow, we have been able to reproduce this on nvidia boards and there should be a fix in the next build.  This should also deal with the preview UI crashing out sometimes when using snow again on nvidia boards.

Thanks Neil,

I should have added, if I leave all 3 monitors the same it works like expected on all 3.  Also, I still have problems making the 3RD monitor different if I am using all static jpeg wallpapers not just DeskScapes.

Sorry for my limited understanding I assumed my 5750 would be doing the work not the HD 3200.
