Hello everyone!
Welcome to the WC 2010 Beta. We are excited to be getting near the release of the new WinCustomize, but we still have many things to be worked out, and your help in finding issues and other feedback will be appreciated. Remember, this is a beta and problems can be expected.
You can access the beta site at:
This forum will serve as the place to give your feedback whether it's a site issue, or general feedback about the site. To make this organized and efficient, there are a few guidelines to follow in this area.
Tag posts with the titles. Example: [Bug] Page Not Working
[Bug] Use this if you find a site bug.
[Feature] Obviously, if you want to give feedback on a specific feature.
[Request] If you are requesting something.
[Question] If you have a general question not pertaining to other tags.
If your post is something other than those examples, just tag the post appropriately so we can view them with some type of order.
The forums are not part of this beta, with the possible exception of a new theme. Feedback for the forums doesn't need to be posted here. If you run across a forum issue, please use the existing thread here.

Just my opinion, WebGizmos, sure it is all different but it did not take long to find my way around, & I find it better than the present website, but there are a lot of sites out there that are very awkward to navigate. I also think that we have not seen the finished article yet, eg personal sites.

Is it just me or are preview images on new/updated skins not showing on the new site?

[Bug] The 'New' section on the home page and the 'All skins' section sorted by 'last updated' only shows brand-new skins, not ones which were updated

[Bug] Upon loading the new wincustomize home page my anti-virus (Kaspersky) popped up saying that the site was trying to upload a trojan to my computer and kicked me off the site. It took two attempts before I was able to see the home page and log on.

Using Firefox (latest) the ads are blocked, but no thumbs of the gallery (names, but no thumbs), nor of the skins when clicked on.
Using Opera 10.10, bug still present.

[questions] I know that some of this may have been discussed but....
clicking on my moniker and clicking on "my site" comes up with the same page, and this only shows the most nine recent skins with no direct access to the others from there.
typing in gmc2 in the search in the combo box on brings up "gmc2" skins and not the others that were made under AKA "wimpy". (should I resubmit the others lol)
how do I change my personal information in the new settings.
where is "my skins"? I use this to monitor comments for the submission.

If you allow this, the webpages can access the Clipboard and read information that you've cut or copied recently.
PLEASE remove this!! It's Obviously I (WE) want to or I (WE) would not have done it. Right?
this is the only web site I know of that dose this..
you would have to do an awfull lot of accidentals
[EXAMPLE]
You read a comment and then you accidentally Clicked and held down your mouse button then you accidentally dragged your Mouse to the left or right and made it accidentally Hightlight the text, then you accidentally put your cursor over the accidentally Highlighted text, then you accidentally right click on it, then you accidentally moved your mouse over the word COPY, then you accidentally clicked on that word copy, then you accidentally scrolled to the Comment Box, then you accidentally Right clicked in the Comment box, then you accidentally Looked for the word PASTE, then you accidentally clicked on the word paste, THAT WOULD BE AN AWFUL LOT OF ACCIDENTALLY'S.
But at lest you let us do it with IE at lest add this to Fire Fox\
and WE all know it is not IE or FF that is doing this SO why is WC doing this?
I am unfamiliar with this issue... so you know, this is not something we put in the site. This only happens for you in firefox? Other people who may be having this issue, is it also only in firefox? I have never seen this happen, I have a feeling it might be a firefox plugin with some bizzare functionality in it or perhaps one of the plugins we are using is throwing that up because of however your security settings are saved in FF.
If we can get more conclusive data about why this is happening I will try to fix this, so you know that is NOT intended behavior.

In IE for WB it open it and loads it right in to WB the old site WC you could at lest right click an save link as
but if it is in a zip then you would not have to do that it would give you the opption to save just WB out of a zip
Again.....I don't know what browser your using but I can click on anything...meaning the download button...on the old or new site and I'm given the option to either directly install it with the appropriate software or save it to a folder of my choosing. I've never had to to right click and "save as" on anything.
the problem here is probably something in the settings of your browser or your OS, you probably have "automatically open known file types" chosen as an option. I'm not sure off the top of my head how to reset this but Gizmos is right, the default behavior when you click a download button should be to popup the promt to save or open.
edit: oops kept reading and see this was resolved.... as a note this is generally why IE is more susceptible to attacks

I've been getting that for ages on the old forums. I use IE8 and yes,it is annoying. If I want to copy and paste any text from within the forums, I get this pemissions prompt. No other site I can think of does this.
RND reports the same thing.

I think this is a browser based problem, I don't know why its showing up only here for you instead of on all sites but if you change that setting hopefully that will fix the issue(that was for IE7, I'm sure changing the setting is a similar thing in other browsers but you may have to look them up seperately).
