WinCustomize 2010 Beta Feedback Forum [Read Before Posting!]

Monday, January 4, 2010 by Island Dog | Discussion: WinCustomize 2011 Feedback

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the WC 2010 Beta.  We are excited to be getting near the release of the new WinCustomize, but we still have many things to be worked out, and your help in finding issues and other feedback will be appreciated.  Remember, this is a beta and problems can be expected.

You can access the beta site at:

www.wincustomizetest.com

This forum will serve as the place to give your feedback whether it's a site issue, or general feedback about the site.  To make this organized and efficient, there are a few guidelines to follow in this area.

Tag posts with the titles.  Example: [Bug] Page Not Working

[Bug] Use this if you find a site bug.

[Feature] Obviously, if you want to give feedback on a specific feature.

[Request] If you are requesting something.

[Question] If you have a general question not pertaining to other tags.

If your post is something other than those examples, just tag the post appropriately so we can view them with some type of order.

The forums are not part of this beta, with the possible exception of a new theme.  Feedback for the forums doesn't need to be posted here.  If you run across a forum issue, please use the existing thread here.

Thanks for your help!

-Spencer

In IE for WB it open it and loads it right in to WB the old site WC you could at lest right click an save link as

but if it is in a zip then you would not have to do that it would give you the opption to save just WB out of a zip

Again.....I don't know what browser your using but I can click on anything...meaning the download button...on the old or new site and I'm given the option to either directly install it with the appropriate software or save it to a folder of my choosing. I've never had to to right click and "save as" on anything.

Just click on it and a window opens and YOU choose to open or to SAVE. When you choose SAVE you'll be given a choice where.

[Bug] Clicking on the blue BootSkins XP link in Featured Galleries takes you to the BootSkins XP Gallery. Clicking on Download Software takes you to BootSkin Vista. These two should not be confused with each other.

[Request]

can Dock Icons PLEASE be separated from the Docks/trays/zoomer/Tabs. when I go to the Object Dock location that is what I want not the Icons... Call it Dock Icons

Good luck.  You might as well try kicking Chuck Norris in the tenders as wish for Dock/Icons separation.

What's wrong with the Dock Icons filter?  Works for me.

If you created docks you'd understand.

DisturbedComputer...I stand corrected. Just tried downloading in IE which I hardly use and you are correct. And I could find no settings to change the way IE handles downloads. I use Firefox and don't have that problem.

Ok great! Yeah...I looked all over in IE to find a way to change that download problem but couldn't find anything. One more reason for me to not use IE.

Update: How to change the downloads in IE. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177976

All the filters working now except in the WindowBlinds gallery the filters for XP, Vista & Windows 7 ready. All the other filters in WindowBlinds OK.

Still having problems with this, I am sorry to say.

Just like to say I appreciate how quickly these problems are being sorted, I also am very impressed with the new site layout, definately easier to navigate than the old one.
