Hello everyone!
Welcome to the WC 2010 Beta. We are excited to be getting near the release of the new WinCustomize, but we still have many things to be worked out, and your help in finding issues and other feedback will be appreciated. Remember, this is a beta and problems can be expected.
You can access the beta site at:
This forum will serve as the place to give your feedback whether it's a site issue, or general feedback about the site. To make this organized and efficient, there are a few guidelines to follow in this area.
Tag posts with the titles. Example: [Bug] Page Not Working
[Bug] Use this if you find a site bug.
[Feature] Obviously, if you want to give feedback on a specific feature.
[Request] If you are requesting something.
[Question] If you have a general question not pertaining to other tags.
If your post is something other than those examples, just tag the post appropriately so we can view them with some type of order.
The forums are not part of this beta, with the possible exception of a new theme. Feedback for the forums doesn't need to be posted here. If you run across a forum issue, please use the existing thread here.

[Bug] On OS X there's a scrollbar on every skin/article comment
[Bug] Can't view ^^Gabriel's profile.
1) looking into the login issue, we have had a couple different login issues and are trying to narrow down why they are happening, thanks for the info.
2) are you using safari in OS X and having this problem? or is it every browser in OS X?

Video preview are not working for the Dreams. I checked some of mine and they do not load. Leviathan, Dingy, Cozy fire to name a few. Also, the hyperlinks in the Dream descriptions do not display as a link.
Here's a screenshot of my Cozy Fire Dream showing the problems. I get a grey box where the video preview should be running.

it appears that the previews are only working in chrome for whatever reason, I'm trying to figure out why that would be now

[request] clicking on "visual styles" under "explore" takes me to the "windowblinds" page. Might "visual styles" be changed to "windowblinds" as that's the page that I'm being directed to?

as an update, I think I found the dream animated preview issue, it should work now, let me know if people are still having problems

The overall appearance is excellent, although I do miss seeing "Recent Forum Activity" on the Home Page.
also its worth noting that the 'Hot Topics' on the main page is pulling from the forums, its not *exactly* the same thing as is on WC now but its pretty similar aside from the names.

(Bug) Can not log on when using Windows 7, No problem on XP. (Dual boot computer)
(Bug) Can not get filters to work in galleries, In the Dreams gallery the second filter disappears completly when you click apply.
Using Firefox 3.5.7.

When choosing "All Time" in the most popular wallpapers and obtaining the list of #1-10, after viewing a selection, the "All Time" reverts to the prior (default) mode and "All Time" has to be reselected. Is there some way to make it continue "All Time" until another mode is selected?
Well right now if you want to preserve your view/filter try hitting the "Return to List" link on the skin you were viewing to go back to browsing. Using this along with the previous and next buttons next to it will allow you to flip through the same compiled list of skins at the higher up explore/browse view and the detail view (whether the list is from a search or just browsing). Your spot in the list is held onto so long as you don't leave it as well meaning if you click through 20 or so skins on the Next -> link when you hit return to list you will be on the 3rd page now (assuming 9 per page).

Sorry Guys,
This is one of the very few things I've ever found about WC that I absolutely HATE. I like the site the way it's laid out now - I can find anything and everything I want. It's very easy to navigate, and I'm really satisfied with it. This new version makes you have to dig through stuff to find what you want. In the words of Sharon Osborne, "Sorry, Darling, it's a big NO from me."

All the filters working now except in the WindowBlinds gallery the filters for XP, Vista & Windows 7 ready. All the other filters in WindowBlinds OK.

[Bug] Filtering by "Master skins" in the All skins view doesn't work.

this is a known bug with the all skins view, there are a couple known bugs in this view that we are trying to work through. Thanks for the report though

It would seem there is a problem logging on when using Windows 7.
Any comments from Stardock concerning this problem?
I am logged onto the present site but not the beta one - it won't let me!

In the Download Stats, I don't know why you'd need to know who the last person who download the skin is.....
Anyways,
In the Download Stats "Note:"
WinCustomize works to ensure its download counts are accurate.
On WinCustomize.com, we take measures to try to provide you with accurate download counts.
Aren't those redundant? You're saying the same thing twice.
Some download sites inflate their download counts either intentionally or unintentionally.
That's a kick to the head. I would think one of the above two would be enough, instead of tearing down other sites.
This is a community site, right?

there are still some login issues we are working out, it is a cookie based problem we are trying to narrow down/fix. For the time being if you clear your cookies you should be able to login...
