Object Desktop Ultimate/Standard Merging
Wednesday, December 2, 2009 by Island Dog | Discussion: WinCustomize News
A couple of months back, we mentioned that with the release of Object Desktop 2010, we will be merging the Object Desktop Ultimate and Object Desktop Standard into one single package again. You can read a great overview of Object Desktop here.
Starting sometime today, we are going to start the merging of Object Desktop. Users with current Object Desktop Ultimate editions will have their subscriptions extended another year. If you are a current Object Desktop standard subscriber, you will see the additional applications appear in your accounts.
We expect this process to be transparent for most users, and no action should be required on your part. However, this merging can take several hours to complete once started, so some users will see the changes before others.
Updates will be posted to this thread, so please keep an eye on this throughout the day.

A very generous gift from Stardock. Thank you. Isn't it ironic that this comes a day after I looked at a Dell Hardware thread on Neowin and saw two users comparing the alleged 'sharp' and 'underhand' practices of Dell with that of Stardock.....in the same breath. In addition to that, Stardock are a major player in Neowin and its doubtful whether Neowin would have survived without Stardock. Talk about bite the hand that feeds you!.......Mind you I guess this world would not be the same without a few jerks and wankers! Anyway........Way to go Brad and Stardock........Thanks for the extra year. Very generous and I for one, am very grateful and thankful.

I personally find neowin a generally negative place to visit. The few times I have posted there, I have been trashed/flamed. I wouldn't recommend posting there unless you do plain gray skins that support msstyles.....they simply gush over those!

I just wanted to thank you for this post. You don’t see honesty very often anymore and I think it’s very refreshing. I think a lot of people would have just kept their mouth. Says a lot about the kind of person you are.

Looking at your accounts, it's possible that those who initially upgraded to OD from other products may not have been extended. I'll drop a line to our DB crew to see if that was it. (I don't think that's intentional . . .)
Any extension is not likely to happen until next week, since we've all gone home for the weekend. ![]()

I really don't think it is fair if we don't get extended because of upgrading from another product--I paid for windowblinds then later decided to buy objest desktop for $54.95. So I acually paid $19.95 for blinds and $54.95 for object desktop which equals the same price as if I would have just bought object desktop
