navigational arrows in vista with white box background

Wednesday, December 2, 2009 by Vampothika | Discussion: Skinning

have an issue in vista with the navigational arrows for some reason they show a white box behind them.

I have copied and pasted 'premultipliedalpha=1" into the code, but that did not help in fact i compared my skin to the new diamond and found that in there, so i thought that would make a difference. but nope.

I need a solution asap as i want this skin uploaded.

Would you mind pasting your code here?

Sorry. I didn't mean your sys stats; I was hoping to see the code from that section in SKS.

1. navarrowsbackground

Image=Sunken Treasure xxx Vista\NavArrowsBackground.tga
Trans=1
PerPixel=1
PreMultipliedAlpha=1

2. nav arrow

Image=Sunken Treasure xxx Vista\NavArrowsNorm.tga
Trans=1
PerPixel=1
PreMultipliedAlpha=1

the premultiplied alpha was what i copied and pasted from diamond, as mine didnt have that setting and i thought that would fix it, but it hasnt.

the glass toolbar behind it is bmp, but i dont think that matters as ive used bmp images for that before.

What happens if you try loading a .png instead of a .tga?  Just plop one into your skin's directory and choose it from SKS.

all of those images are png, sk transforms them to tga.  thats what i normally do  hairpullen material.....

Copying & pasting the PreMultipliedAlpha tag wouldn't make any difference. You could just check the box under the Image tab.

Also, loading a .png wouldn't make a difference, because SKS will convert into a .tga upon import.

PurrBall made me think of something, though;

Vamp, how did you create your .tga? Did you import a .png, save as .tga in Photoshop, use the frame builder...?

What do you have for a navigation arrow background?

Hey Vamp, if you want me to, I'll take a look at your .wba and your .png files. Zip 'em and send 'em to mirsguy at gmail dot com.

i'll zip and send to you. i dont use the frame builder, never have.... i only use png or bmp, never use tga and import from my folder to the skin through sk import.

So far so good in W7. It is skinning perfectly.

I'll boot over into Vista and take a look.

Not sure what to tell you, Vamp; Everything's skinning just fine in Vista, too. Great blind, by the way!

Ahh, I must've missed that part. I didn't realize it was an IE problem. I'm seeing it too (on W7). I'll look into it...

In the IE7 settings, you have the "search address box" graphic in place of the nav arrows background.

Change the graphic to the "navarrowsbackground.tga" and you'll be all set. Once I did it, all was well.
