HDD Instal Questions
Sunday, August 16, 2009 by angus1949 | Discussion: Personal Computing
I just installed a new 500Gb HDD and installed XP. I have an old 40Gb HDD that I want to remove and in turn use my original 320Gb HDD as a slave drive. Will this cause problems since XP is on the 320 drive too? I assume I will have to format using disk management? Thanks for any input.

yes. as long as the bios is set to boot to the 500, there are no issues. just boot into winders and format the 320.

Be sure to install whatever OS you wish on the master drive before installing your slave drive in.

nope. as long as the bios says to boot to the 500, there aren't any issues with xp being on the 320.
