I mean, where do Mozilla get off... introducing a 'security' feature that hampers my ease of use??  Bastards!!!

Not only that, this 'supposed' security feature has workarounds and addons to bypass it... so why do Mozilla persist with it!  It's like closing the barn door after the effing horse has bolted.... don'tcha think?

I suppose the question begging here is... who's effing security???  The material (text, etc) is there on the WWW for all to see, so how is disabling copy and paste enhancing somebody's privacy/security???   It's not like the data collecting, nosey bastards over at Google are gonna be hindered, is it!!

Nope, it's no more than an annoying, pain in the arse inconvenience, and Mozilla needs to discontinue this pain in the arse hinderance to ease of use RIGHT NOW!!!!

Yeah!  Who do they think they are?

I mean, if this 'security' measure worked to stop Google pilfering data I'd say leave it... but it doesn't.  So I want it discontinued yesterday.

I believe they call this a browser war zone. Seems everything MS comes up with for IE the Mozilla people try to examine and match or do a little bit better. The such for security as it goes. One IE uses the new stuff from MS as in less java scripts. Where Mozilla uses more java scripts and so forth.

In the past some scripts have been damaging or lets say where it could take control. Thus someone has to loose because of it. So in this day and age of hackers and pleasant ripoffs; we suffer to use things with such security. I'll bet those hackers got it all figured out almost... here is a project I'm watching at the moment for some better programing with FF. But it is not ready for 3.5.1 yet... good for 3 though. Wondering how much more goodies they are still gona add. There is a new beta release and more schduled for the up coming months. With of course more security features in the works.

To install xpi file types you use the file open command in the FF browser.

But this xpi file is for FF3 not 3.5.1. Surely the devs will be posting again newer updates soon. What is really needed and I'm looking into is a security feature to add websites via the browser to the java script file with a configuration page. Thus you would not have to open the file and add websites manually.  Oh and restart your browser along with all of that...

I really do not blame Mozilla for these things; but then again I kind of do! I'm going to post a new project idea for this kind of security editor to be added to one of the next few beta programs we have for testing in the future to see where it may or may not go. I kind of like my editor idea a bit and hope someone else will take it to the same light I see at the end of that dark security tunnel.

Oh ya this bug I'm watching use's the buttons not right click. Seems explorer functions in FF are being written out more and more now a days.

The issue isn't copy/paste itself; javascript (as used in the postbox's custom context menu here) is just prohibited from doing it.

Firefox blocking javascripts from accessing the clipboard isn't new--it's been that way for a long while (at least a year). And honestly it's better that way, IMO. Some website doesn't have any business fiddling with the clipboard when you can use Ctrl+X/C/V just fine.

So who is in favor of switching to a better forum setup?

Thanks to everyone for the user.js fix.  It worked great.  I can copy and paste by using right click now instead of command line or browser icons.
