Unable to detect third monitor. SOLVED!

Saturday, July 25, 2009 by Snowman | Discussion: Personal Computing

Another day - another PC related problem....

Specs first:

Vista HB 64 bit
ATI Radeon HD4850 X2 (Catalyst 8.632.0.0 - CrossFireX enabled, if relevant)
Monitor 1: Philips 220WS (22")
Monitor 2: Neovo H-W22 (22")
Monitor 3: Neovo H-W19 (19")
(All are connected to the GFX card with DVI -> VGA connectors)

As the topics says, the third monitor isn't being detected.
They are set up like this:

I've tried both the vacant slots, to no avail.
The monitor just isn't visible, neither in ATI CC nor Windows display settings (would be odd if it were detected by one and not the other)

Any ideas/clues/solutions!?

I think you have to disable CrossFire.

Must be a Vista issue then, cause Windows 7 auto detected the monitor, without any problems....
