I thought this would be a fun thing to do. Lets hear yours
Did you Know!!
Sydney - Australia's first and largest city, also known as Sin City, wanted to be Capital of Australia but its convict stigma counted against it.
Melbourne - Wanted to be the Capital of Australia on the basis that it was the home to the Australian establishment and was not founded by Convicts. (Founded by John Batman; son of a Convict)
Canberra - Because Sydney and Melbourne kept bickering over which city should be the capital of Australia, it was decided that neither of them would be capital and instead, a new capital would be built in the middle of them both.
Adelaide - Claim to fame is that it is a City that has lots of Churches. Adelaide is the Capital of the only Australian state never to have received Convicts.
Police force - Australia's first police force was a band of 12 of the most well behaved Convicts.
People: 92% Caucasian descent, 7% Asian descent, 1% Aboriginal descent.
Homicide - Australia was founded by Convicts. Its homicide rate is 1.8 per 100,000 population. The United States was founded by religious zealots. It's homicide rate is 6.3 per 100,000. Almost 400% greater than Australia.
The ocker - 10 percent of Australians satisfy the definition of an 'ocker' . This 10 percent of the population consume 80 percent of the beer drunk in Australia.
Newspaper readership - Per capita, Australians read more newspapers than any other nation.
Urban dwellers - Australia is one of the world’s most urbanised countries, with about 70 per cent of the population living in the 10 largest cities.
Don Bradman The cricketer- Don Bradman averaged 99.94 during his career. The next highest average in the entire history of the game is around 60.
Kangaroo - The name for the Australian marsupial Kangaroo came about when some of the first white settlers saw this strange animal hopping along and they asked the Aborigines what it was called. They replied with 'Kanguru', which in the native language meant 'I don't know' (what you are asking).
The Australian Lyre Bird is the world's best imitator; able to mimic the calls of 15 different species of birds in their locality and string the calls into a melody. Also been known to mimic the sound mobile phones.

Did you know?
... that a banana tree is not a tree, it's a herb, thus making the banana itself a berry rather than a fruit.
... that bamboo is nothing other than a form of grass?
... that I don't feel like coming up with more stuff like this anymore? So bye bye for now. ![]()

Although Chicago Illinois is called the "Windy City" it is not the windiest in the USA. In fact,it isn't even in the top ten.
| 1. Blue Hill Observatory, Massachusetts | 15.4 |
| 2. Dodge City, Kansas | 14.0 |
| 3. Amarillo, Texas | 13.5 |
| 4. Rochester, Minnesota | 13.1 |
| 5. Casper, Wyoming | 12.9 |
| 6. Cheyenne, Wyoming | 12.9 |
| 7. Great Falls, Montana | 12.7 |
| 8. Goodland, Kansas | 12.6 |
| 9. Boston, Massachusetts | 12.5 |
| 10. Lubbock, Texas | 12.4 |
The name is generally attributed to the weather but is more likely due to this:
According to the Chicago Public Library, the name came from East Coast detractors who objected to the loud and windy boosterism of those promoting Chicago as an excellent place to invest.

Well that's news to me... I thought Chicago got its 'Windy City' tag because curried cabbage was/is a popular dish there. ![]()

Most farts don't contain methane: In fact, most gas passed by humans is an oxygen/nitrogen mix.
The worst smells actually come from hydrogen sulfide, another gas. Also, the more nitrogen rich your diet is, the worse farts are going to smell.
Contrary to the humorous television shows, trying to light a fart as it escapes your butt is actually extremely dangerous.
This is a warning, not a challenge.
The average person farts somewhere between 12-16 times per day. If you've eaten foods known to produce gas, you can expect this to be more frequent.
Men and women fart the same amount, assuming they eat similar diets. However, men do seem to have a tendency to be more proud of their farts.
The rumor is that if you hold your farts in during the day and suppress the natural tendency to release gas, then you will release all that pent up gas in your sleep. If you live with someone, they will likely be much more aware of this than you are. Shaunna, therefore is far safer than most as we all know starkers never holds them in.
Fart is both a noun and a verb.
You can see farts in the air when it's really cold outside.
A person can still fart for a short time after death. So, starkers will eventually (a long, long time from now I sincerely hope) have the last word, though probably not in Forums. I will therefore steadfastly refuse to attend any such event since it would probably break my heart permanently and result in my untimely end.

Australia has always been an inventive place. The Aborigines showed a mastery of physics to create hunting equipment like the boomerang and woomera. Likewise, Convicts showed a great capacity to think outside the square to evade capture, attempt escape or to steal. On one occasion, a Convict decided to disguise himself as a Kangaroo so the barking guard dogs would not seem suspicious. The plan was working brilliantly until a trooper decided to use the Kangaroo for target practice.

Did you know....
Snake myths that have fooled gullible people
- The Death Adder has a sting in its tail.
- Snakes hypnotise their prey.
- Tiger Snakes chase people. You should run uphill to escape them.
- Snakes milk cows.
- If you kill one of a pair of Tiger Snakes, its mate will hunt you down to take its revenge.
- In Australia, there is a Hoop Snake that takes its tail in its mouth and then goes bowling merrily along.

Crocodile hunters such as Steve Irwin and the fictional character of Crocodile Dundee are often held up as icons as Australia. A large number of concerned citizens complain about such icons, saying they are not representative of the true Australian character. Such concerned citizens argue that fat opera singers like Damn Joan Sutherland should instead be held up as the face of Australia. Considering that Australia has even fewer opera singers than crocodile wrestlers, the complaints of these concerned citizens seem ludicrous. Ironically, being ludicrous is a great Australian pastime.

Um, don't wanna brag or anything...but try 40 - 50 times a day... more in Summer. Must be the heat! ![]()
Although most women would deny this. Did you know the reason we don't often see/hear/smell women fart is because of the "chamber." Be warned, however, the linked video clip has sounds and images that may leave some permanently and emotionally scarred... please view at your own risk. Also, for those who dare, it might be a good idea to turn down the volume on your speakers.

Now while I can see the fun in that (dutch ovens), I see no logical reason to save up farts during the day. Apart from causing belly ache and discomfort, it is unnatural and would restrict many wonderful opportunities to share: eg, in elevators, etc. Besides, if one regularly consumes a healthy diet of curried cabbage, there is NO need to save up farts during the day for dutch ovens at night.

Um, you sure 'bout that?? You are, after all, speaking about the greatest exponent of the starkerbark the World has ever known.

Start worrying when you see the Stargate itself....or anything coming out of it.

Did you know:
When the Russians sent Sputnik into space and it crossed over the US, it opened the door for the US to send the Corona satellites up without having to worry about the Russians crying foul about satellites crossing over denied territory. Hence, they couldn't do anything about all the spy satellites in years to come. Had the US been the first to get one up there, Russia could have/probably would have thrown a red flag about how it wasn't right, blah, blah, blah and space might not be the same now. They did it first alright...it was just the opening Eisenhower needed.![]()
