I'd like a dollar for everytime the advice  'skin for yourself' has been handed out in the forums.....

a good way to remedy that...is hang around more and catch up....  the site is like a merry-go-round...people getting off for a break...coming back...catching up..all the time...

You have this wrong, create/skin for yourself first, if others like it that is a bonus.

WC is what you make it to be, IMO it sounds like you are trying to make more out of it than you need to.

I am here every day so I have a good feel for what goes on here, not sure what you feel left out of. Not being here for a period of time, you would be behind on WC news and maybe some of the more fun type forum threads, but it would not take very long to read them, reply if you feel like and be caught back up.

A:  Wincustomize.com is a big site [as in significant] so its members/works/content are prominent on the web [via searches].

B:  No-one needs to skin to please anyone else... unless they WANT to...in which case 'how much effort' is their own decision.

C:  Life is like that.  What you get out of it depends on what you put into it.

Other than that, your uploaded content is accessible to you for its removal or retention as you feel is warranted, and in time fame/infamy on the net via search hits will fade/diminish....that's the way they work, really...

A: You should have signed up for the WinCustomize Witness Protection Plan.Everyone gets their own rock to hide under.

B: If something you do for fun feels like too much work....you're doing it wrong.

C: Define "actively"  Do what you can,when you can and in your own time.

Sorry, Wiz: Stealth Rocks are available only to certain Mods: HG_E, ERK and WOM (although he denies it).

The WC WPP works differently:

1. You start out with, say, a nick like PDJ (a random choice of letters, I assure you).

2. You pretend like you have two accounts/subscriptions. You change your nick making it three. The resultant confusion masks the seizure and assuming of the original (PDJ) identity even easier by distraction and slight of hand.

3. Then you get to pretend you're someone else, with a new avatar and everything. You take on lots of local color. Take pics of houses you don't live in just to put people off your scent.

4. You confuse everyone by claiming to be the guy who was disappeared. You grab all his skins and everything (wife and kids included) and SD moves you to Detroit. In a week even his wife and kids couldn't recognize the original.

5. The original guy is left broke, homeless and muttering empty, indistinct paranoid threats at nebulous Internet and Gov't. bodies...a vitual, empty husk which disappears (just like Invasion of the Body Snatchers).

I can understand you but you've got to understand creators and moderators of wincustomize too, its not too easy create and promote site like this.

and  don't forget about global crizes... now you may see silence on other sites too...

and if we're all in this hard times will run away from communities, internet will die.

i have several issues to wincustomize too, but try be objective in my position as it possible

I'd keep the Wincusomize sub so you can download content.

A) You can find stuff about me from years ago. Some stuff on internet posted by you will live on forever.

I don't do skin for others, I do skin for myself and share em with others. If they don't like it they don't download it. Easy.

C) I stopped following events very closely a while ago but I'm still here.

wasn't there a policy in place where people that publicly took their toys and went away were then banned? Yes, there indeed was as I know some that were. The situations were a bit more stressed but Brad DID state that this would be the policy from then on....
