Happy Mardi Gras, Y'all!

Today is Fat Tuesday, so I just thought I would wish y'all a happy Mardi Gras! I've got red beans and rice cookin' on the stove, I've had my King Cake for breakfast this morning, and I even flashed my husband a few hours ago and earned my beads! Let the good times roll!

Awe, you're just afraid of happiness, so you don't even want to chance it. It's okay. Eventually the Japanese are going to create that robot companion and you can buy yourself one of them and program it to be anything you want.

Karen, my friend, you couldn't be MORE wrong.. actually, you're probably right!!
Men [not all] suck too much to risk anything, and when you are housebound like me, what's the chance of meeting Mr Right? or at least... Mr 'Right Now'?

I can't, but I'm sure somebody can!
THAT is the exact sentiment my son and his new bride had when they took a chance and arranged to meet each other through OkCupid. Levi was just back from Iraq and decided that since he was now permitted to look at women, he should take advantage of that right, and Lorna had decided she would be single forever, but she really needed "a little action" if you get my drift. Both of them made plans with their best friends like an hour after they were suppose to meet each other, and both of them had to cancel on their best friends because they just hit it off so well. (I found all this out when they said their vows).
You really don't have to be alone unless you want to be. You're certainly an attractive enough woman, you're sweet, loving and kind. You deserve to be happy.

Aww you are so freakin' SWEET!!!!! .. but alas.. Karen, I haven't been outside for almost 3 years, so I will never meet anyone
.. besides, NO man could handle all of my problems.. Anxiety and all the rest of the crap, and I know.. if someone cares, they should accept it.. but sometimes, it's just too much.

Here's what ya do. You get a web cam, and set up an account at OkCupid or some place like it, and you get to know the person through the internet and the camera. You take your time. You don't really have to leave the house until you're practically married already (remember...I married my husband after knowing him only 6 weeks -- actually, I had him move in after three days. I'm impulsive, but it worked out for me.)
Don't say NO man could handle all of your problems. You just have to find one with complimentary problems, as opposed to problems that exacerbate your own. I'm sure there are a few perfect people out there, but the slightly messed up ones are more comfortable to be around -- you find one who can teach you how to modify your anxious behavior and in return you teach him something you have mastered and that way you end up not just loving him because he's your best friend and your romantic interest, but also because he makes you a better person and you make him a better person -- both of you are better together than either of you could be on your own.
I don't think that nature intended that all people should grow up completely well balanced and totally sane (otherwise we would hatch from eggs completely independent, as opposed to vulnarable, weak and in need of parents, who make us crazy from the start). I think we have complimentary diagnoses -- each of us with an illness and each of us with a cure, and we're meant to share them, so that we rely on each other, which will get us through the hard times.

Not in the catalog, Karen. Nope...not a single one (double entendre)...says so in "The Operating Instructions".
There ARE some that make absolutely incredible avatars and skin, though....you and TG, Barb, and several more.

I suppose it's like acquiring a dog -- if you get one as a puppy, it's going to pee on the rug and have absolutely no manners; if you get one from the pound, it's going to be at the very least a little messed up from it's previous owner and possibly fatally messed up and unpredictable....occasionally lucky people get one whose previous owner died or something, and it's all trained and well adjusted except for the loss of its previous owner, but those are very few and far between, and then you always have to wonder if they're comparing you to their previous owner and finding you lacking in some way.
