Vista 64bit Start and Systray addition?
Monday, November 10, 2008 by Stoneysilence | Discussion: ObjectDock
Any idea when Start Button and Systray will be supported by Object Dock under Vista 64bit?
Love the program but because of these not being supported I can't hide my windows taskbar/systray.

Nice link, Mirsguy... Any idea what that link is supposed to show?
64bit Vista and ObjectDock do NOT play well together. There is supposed to be an update this month ... that's sometime in the next 13 days. Of course, I'll believe it when I see it.

The only reason I just bought this ObjectDock complete was for the system tray utility. I am extremely disappointed that it doesn't have 64 bit compatibility, and I wish I could receive a refund because the only reason I wanted it was to replace my start menu, and without system tray support I am unable to do so. I really hope the people at stardock(or whoever the parent company is) will either work quick to fix this problem or give me a refund.

Play nice or pay the price... ![]()
Vista Ultimate x64 used to have sys tray support. The most recent update seems to have disabled it.
I believe that if you were to uninstall OD+, and reinstall an earlier version of it through Impulse or SD Central, you should have your tray support again. I haven't bothered to try it cuz it's not a huge deal to me personally.

Yes, but for some obscure reason, Stardock removed the old vista x64 capable version from the servers, and refuses to put it back. Some people could roll back with SD Central (SD Central makes local backups), but I uninstalled that in favour of Impulse, and I am out of luck.
It is a BIG deal for me, and I hope they come up with a working solution soon.

Shotti: Is your start menu working? My only problem is the sys tray; start menu is ok...

I have a fresh installation of Vista Ultimate 64bit and OD+ 1.9. My start menu does not work, it says "Will be available in future release" and the system tray docklet does not show any icons. Not sure what the problems might be.

Update OD+ through impulse. That will at least give you a functional start button.
I had the same problem when I first installed Vista Ultimate x64. ![]()

Hopefully Stardock will release another update to OD+ 1.9 that will allow a working system tray again.
I do know, however, that they're busy working on OD+ 2.0...

To a related thread where I display a screeny that shows my Vista Ultimate x64 machine with working start menu and sys tray. That was, however, before this OD update which killed the sys tray.
Evidently the forum links aren't working properly, and it simply redirects you to the forum home page.
